If you realistically look at it... It's true...

Montolivo and WC CAM would be still very difficult and hard for us to win CL...

When Teams like Man Utd, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Possibly Man Shitty are better then you...

We should just aim at the Serie A title and the Cup...

Easy Double there if we focus on it...

if we did get monty and a WC cam, why would we not be able to win the CL?

our defence and keeper are all extremely solid, bar Taiwo who hasnt shown his worth yet. And our attack is top 3 in the world, ibra, pato, robino + the WC ATM would make us really strong.

It would be nice for even monty to come, and next season sign someone for the ATM position, but monty + a WC ATM and we have a great shot at the CL

Montolivo, here is the right price 31/07/2011

Montolivo, here is the right price

According to the Corriere dello Sport \ Stadium , Fiorentina's sporting director would set the price just to deprive the midfielder Riccardo Montolivo: 10 million euros, below which figure does not even discuss it, even at the cost of losing a parameter zero the next season.

It seemed to be taken off the deal between AC Milan and Fiorentina and imminent arrival in Milanello the player by Caravaggio, and behind the apparent calm of recent days could be this greedy request by the sports director purple.

AC Milan, for now, has no intention to pay that for a player out of contract.

Fiorentina are looking to gain the most from this market, but in the end, the will of the player to express themselves in a showcase like that red and black may soon unlock the negotiations for the Devil.

Maybe we should just dump him for Aquilani. That would teach Fiorentina a lesson.

Fiorentina want Aquilani as Monty's replacement, if we sign him they're left with two options: Keep Montolivo and lose him on a free next season, so we could get him 10 times cheaper than he is now. Or let him go at a discount in fear of losing him for free, and in that case we get two highly rated Italians at a cut-down price. Win-win for us and lose-lose for them. That'll teach them a lesson on haggling over the price of a want away-soon to be bosman player.

monty will move much cheaper. 10 mil for him with NO ONE ELSE BIDDING and knowing he wants to leave/walk for free in 12 months is stupid.

...true..asssuming 2 things :

1. they can't convince Monty to stay longer (which seems likely tough)
2. Montolivo come to us despite aquilani's signing.

In the end, as expected, Fiorentina will wait to close the deal with Aquilani then will sell Monty @ a fair price ( 8-9 milions max)

True that aquilani had a injury issue before when with Liverpool but his past season long stint with juve he stayed healthy, and proved that if healthy he's a good asset to any team..watched him play preseason with Liverpool this summer and everytime Liverpool gained possession, they gave the ball to aquilani to distribute..he would be a ideal pickup in my eyes and at less then 10 mill. For him, why not..

who are you?

my groupie :o

our of curiosity, how would cesc + montolivo play together?

IMO cesc, mvb, uncle rico is a good 3 man. We'd be back to having a good posession based midfield a long w/ being defensively strong (monty is a good defender, definitely if he's not your anchor, thats where it becomes a problem)

But then what? Boateng @ CAM? I mean it'd work to an extent, we'd just be inverting roles again... Robinho @ CAM in a 3 forward front would be cool.

that team is going to be dynamic but about the specifics i dont know
Cesc/monty - LCM
Cesc/Monty/Boa/Robi/Cass - AM
Flamini/Boa _ RCM
Too many CMs now
Boa cesc Monty all can be CMs in their own right, Monty can take Bommel position as soon as we are done with euro 2012
nice headache we will have. players who can play all round the park but please teach boa some discipline

IMO, Cesc will be maximised in the AM position..

And as Allegri likes a destroyer RCM, Boateng should gradually take it from Gattuso..

LCM should be Montolivo's..

So;

Still skeptical of boateng playing at RCM. He is not a natural centre mid. He is not comfortable there and he has not played well when he has been put in midfield. Rino was a different beast , i would stay away from comparisions with him and kpb . its better to have midfielders with a good technique at the centre with a better reading and understanding of the game.. I wouldnt mind boateng as cam ..for some reason he is doing well there..

Gattuso has a lot more going for him than just athleticism. I honestly struggle to remember seeing Boateng make a proper tackle.
