First part of your sentence already means second part is a moot point.

We were forced to sell Bacca. And getting Samu was the only way we can get ANY value from Bacca, otherwise we would have to loan him out until his contract runs out and get absolutely nothing.

Sure, Samu hasn't looked the greatest on the LW, but he is in a new country playing out of position most of the times. It's pointless to discuss whether he's done well enough because we had to do this deal regardless.

I am just hoping he finds his feet, I don't see why he is dismissed by so many. Let's not forget how useless Suso was before his loan spell to Genoa.

We either:

Loan out Bacca again and again til he's no longer worth anything and goes for free.

OR the smart thing we did. Got some cash value and what looked like a promising player. Samu is still young enough that he can adjust to Serie A with us as a backup, or that we can get something back selling him on in summer to Spain or something again.

This way we actually cashed in on Bacca than continue to keep players til golden handshake/contract expiry.
