Douglas Costa wasn't a regular starter for a large part of last season.

And Insigne scored around 10 goals.

It's ludicrous if you think a wing forward in a 4-3-3 will be okay with just 10 assists in a season if his team plans to finish in the top 3.

Placing such an high price on SMS is a psychological tactic. It's a signal that this guy is hot shit. But is he really worth it?

Other than lichsteiner and to some degree kolarov Lazio players have been massively overrated. Hernanes was the last mediocrity they hyped and inter paid the price.

In many ways he was the first saverage.

I'm saying a minimum of 10 assists would be a good return for any winger no matter which team. Of course Suso would score, hope he gets at least 10 also.

Diego Costa is one of the best wingers in the world. Much better than Suso.

I think Suso is on par with Insigne and he'll get similar numbers next season with Higuain.

That makes a lot more sense. But they'll still need to replace Modric with someone since i'm guessing the deal for Icardi would see Modric go the other way.

I'm gonna do almost a complete rehash of one of my posts from this time last year.

We need GOALSCORERS to finish at the top of Serie A. The older 'defence wins scudetto' system doesn't work anymore - you need a good defence to win the Scudetto, but you will NOT finish at the top without a potent attack. If a team can't score 70 goals in the league, they would struggle to finish in a CL place.

Thankfully we've solved our biggest issue in this regard ie a striker, and let's all hope Higuain scores 20 goals. But that's obviously not enough at all. Another 50 goals have to come from somewhere.

Cutrone as a 2nd choice striker should get 10 goals. And maybe 5 more from a 3rd striker, Silva or whoever else. That's 15 more from the strikers.

Now we do have guys who are good at corners and freekick situations - Romagnoli improved a lot last year, and Caldara has an excellent header. The fullbacks could tap in a couple. So from the defence, we should get around 10 goals over the season.

Hakan is at a point where 7-8 goals should be expected from him. Kessie, Bonaventura and Biglia can get 7-8 between themselves.

So we have reached 60 goals.

The last piece of the puzzle has to be the 3rd attacker. If we continue playing a 4-3-3, that's the winger ie Suso. Otherwise if we decide to invest in an explosive midfielder like Milinkovic-Savic, that would be him. Either way, we need that player to score at least 10 goals.

Otherwise we have no chance.

We need to sign goalscorers. Or hope Suso can be consistent throughout the season at being one.

I find this a very simplistic but effective way of looking at football.
