He said they were honest to them, meaning they let them know we will only buy if we qualify... so it wasnt something new

hmm ... the whole Higuain negotiation was about getting it certain (from Pipita side, i mean) and seeing the transfer targets and talk shift after UEFA this looks like situational change rather than "aint nothing new"

What i meant is Maldini said in press conference ( i think it was Paqueta presentation) that the club was clear to Higuain and Bakayoko about signing them only if Milan qualifies for CL. That happened before all this media talk about Higuan-Chelsea links.
Not sure if we understood each other, but yeah its complicated especially with Uefa and all that happened
