Was just about to post the English version of that,so for the people like who don't really understand Italian here it is :

Christian Abbiati Is Sure Milan Will Win Serie A Title

Christian Abbiati believes all the signs are there for Milan to overtake Serie A leaders Inter and claim their 18th Scudetto come May.

The Rossoneri have climbed to within four points of their city rivals thanks to their midweek win at Fiorentina and the goalkeeper is convinced history is about to repeat itself.

“I’m sure Milan will win the Scudetto,” he told ********** newspaper.

“This season reminds me of that which led to the title we won in 1999 with [Alberto] Zaccheroni as our boss.”

Milan pipped Lazio to the Italian title in 1998-99 despite finding themselves seven points behind the Biancocelesti in March.

Zaccheroni’s men mounted a stirring comeback in the final weeks of the campaign and Abbiati’s heroics often proved decisive after he took over the goalkeeping duties from Sebastiano Rossi.

The 32-year-old has recently forced his way back into Leonardo’s starting line-up, and added: “Back then I also claimed a starting place midway through the season. So, I believe in the Scudetto…”

We're facing JuBe in the last game, this won't be like Perugia in 1999. Hope he is right and pulls off another Scudetto saving save.

ABBIA REACHES 200!
3/20/2010 5:08:00 PM
The Rossoneri's Delegate Administrator Adriano Galliani today rewarded Christian Abbiati at Milanello with a Club Medal for his 200 official appearences as Milan's goalkeeper.

MILANELLO - Milan came together this afternoon at 15.00 on the lowered pitch of the Milanello sporting center and, before the afternoon training session ahead of tomorrow's match against Napoli, the Rossoneri's delegate administrator Adriano Galliani wanted to reward Christian Abbiati with a celebrative medal for his 200 official appearences with the Rossoneri's shirt. The 200th appearence was made in the last league match at San Siro against Chievo on Sunday 14 March 2010.

After the applause all his team mates gave Christian Abbiati for reaching this important target, Adriano Galliani commented on this to Milan Channel's microphones:

"Christian Abbiati was playing at Monza before joining Milan and was bought by our club in the summer of 1998 to be the third goalkeeper behind Jens Lehmann and Sebastiano Rossi.
As the third goalkeeper, Abbiati became the first choice in the last match of the first round of the season (Milan-Perugia 2-1 of 17 January 1999 in which Christian Abbiati replaced Sebastiano Rossi) and from that moment on he played all the matches of the second round of the season which ended with Perugia-Milan 1-2 and the victory of the Scudetto.

With Milan Christian Abbiati has always done well. Of him we remember his save on Bucchi (Perugia-Milan 1-2 of 23 May 1999) and his save on Kallon in the famous Champions League semifinal against Inter in 2003. There are many memories and we have Abbiati in our hearts.
Christian spent three years away from Milan, first one year at Juventus, then at Torino and finally at Athletic Madrid. Now he has finally returned home, I think, and for good."

This mistake was bound to happen at some point as he always, always knocks the ball violently upfield with his first touch - he never tries to control the ball first. He has been insecure in Napoli game also, and if we had Storari in bench, I would call for GK change. But currently he is still by far the best we got.

Only one negative (polite comment) about Abbiati after yesterday's game? I think the Dida thread would have exploded if he made similar mistake.

Just saying.

Told ya we needed new keepers ;) And no ... Storari isn't good enough either IMO.

He's been in poor form, but the highly talented Sergio Asenjo was bought for less that 7 mil last summer. He's been touted as Iker's heir for the Spanish NT. Then, Kameni was a free agent not too long ago ...

Adriano Galliani, speaking at the inauguration of Milan Golf Tour, also spoke of a market scenario of two summers ago, that he saw Hugo Lloris, then goalkeeper emerging Nice, very close to AC Milan but the deal then jumped and the holder French National, League at Lyon. AD Rossoneri explained the background to the negotiations saying, "Lloris was practically our summer 2008 and had already reached an agreement with him and his attorney (who is the father ed) but refused to move to Palermo Abbiati blew the deal. "

fuck abbiati

You're assuming it was as simple as this, and I'm sure it isn't. Abbiati has made over 200 appearances for Milan, and he has, in my opinion, earned our respect.

Christian Abbiati

According to rumors of Milannews.it, Ac Milan promise a place as starter among the goal posts of the team to Christian Abbiati. The just arrived Marco Amelia will start the season as second goalie.

Goddammmit, they get a good keeper, and they're making him second!

I bet this was Galliani's decision

Great idea! If no one cares enough to reply to you in the thread, why not make an entirely new thread devoted to that one post?

Christian Abbiati Vows To Become Milan's First Choice Goalkeeper

Christian Abbiati Vows To Become Milan's First Choice Goalkeeper; Abbiati has made his pitch for next season as he eyes regular football and an Italy role...

By Salvatore Landolina
Jun 30, 2010 11:04:00 AM

Christian Abbiati is convinced he can become Milan's first choice goalkeeper, despite the arrival of Marco Amelia.

The 33-year-old is recovering from injury and is eager to challenge for his place, but knows he faces an exacting task ahead of the new campaign.

"Amelia's arrival? I am training hard at 100 per cent and with intensity because I want to be the first choice," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I hope to stay fit and without any physical problems so I can enjoy a serene championship.

"But then it's the coach who decides. In any case I don't think the fight is between me and Amelia only as there is Flavio Roma too."

Abbiati's hope for a regular slot is linked with his ambition to revive the burning embers of his Italy career.

"La Nazionale? If [Cesare] Prandelli calls me then I will run to him," he concluded.

Milan, the number 1 could not be assigned

For the first time in the history of Milan, since there are custom numbers, the number one jersey could not be worn by any of the current three goalkeepers Rossoneri.

Christian Abbiati should confirm his historic No. 12, Roma wore 31 last season while Amelia could take his 32, which accompanies many years.

I don't get it ... why? It hints that we are still on the market, but I don't see that happening with our management since they already already signed Amelia.

-e- actually I wanted to say I can't see us signing No 1 goalkeeper. Some random dude may come and Roma leave.

Yeah, we were linked to Stekelenburg, yet i don't see us signing another keeper after we signed Amelia. I would rather we signed someother players we need than just plumping for 2 keepers in one Mercato.

Mostly they assuming that No.1 Jersey is resigned till the deserved GK have it, they are not hinting for the Market subsistence.

Even if we linked to "Maarten Stekelenburg" he is for sure not in our budget boundary at the moment.

That would be demoralising current keepers. I don't think it's a good idea. Where has it been done before?

The way I see our budget might pay one 10-15 mil signing. I seriously doubt that after signing Amelia we'd go for another keeper.
