He will be a backup, no doubt about it.

A long term injury in pre season so we still have the possibility of signing a better midfielder..
Should we root for testicular cancer on classless posters?

he really wanted that 5th cl after all :D

he's great when he got proper motivation, but now i'm a little worried about his performances in domestic level next season =.=

This is bad news for Milan, we now already have 9 midfielders for 4 spots. If we want to trim down the squad as Galliani has said, we wont be able to sign 2 or 3 midfielders. I can see merkel and strasser getting loaned out co-owned, but we really needed 2 to 3 quality signings in midfield. Also, do you think players like Seedorf, Gattuso and Ambrosini will accept to be on the bench? Maybe Ambrosini, but Seedorf and Gattuso have been disgruntled when left out before (like the Gattuso and Leonardo situation). So if we are playing 2 of the 3, I dont foresee a good season for next season. (at least in midfield that is...).

Another point is the revolution that will be taking place next year. Players that will be out of contract will be Van Bommel, Ambrosini, Gattuso and Seedorf. These are 4 pilars of our midfield. It will be hard to replace all four of them in one season. So what happens next season? Some of them sign new contact extensions again? We really needed 2 players of the old guard in midfield to leave this season so the transition will be smooth, 2 out (pirlo and seedorf or ambrosini and 2 in this year) and then next year 2 out (Van Bommel and gattuso and 2 in) would be a lot more feasible than replacing 4 pilars of the midfield in one season.

There seems to be a lot of negative vibes about seedorf renewing but i actually think it was important . We couldint lose pirlo-dinho-seedorf in the spand of a year . Clarence will be important for us in Cl next year . Anyways if milan want to make room for an extra player coming in it was never going to be seedorf but more likely gattuso or flamini .

Now I hope Gatuso will leave because it's getting overcrowded in our midfield and we need new names. We can-t afford to replace it all next year. Would be expensive and moreover, not a smooth transition at all.

On the bright side, I remember him tearing up after we got knocked out of CL this season. Hopefully he'll want to prove a point this time round :)

Yes I'm still high from our Scudetto celebrations :D

Damn man, Galliani said we need to shorten our squad list, doesn't it make sense of letting go your oldies who can't stay on top level??

Nice that Seedorf renewed his contract!
Players like him are desperately needed to win the CL.
Seedorf is needed both in the locker room and on the plane.

A mix of experienced players like (Nesta, Seedorf, Inzaghi, etc.) With less experienced such as Thiago Silva, Pato, Taiwo, etc. are perfect for the challenge of CL.
Just look at the team that Man United have this year.
Those who wanted to remove Seedorf for bringing in young inexperienced players who do not know what it means to represent AC Milan could instead start to suport Arsenal.
They are a good example of what can happen to a club when you clear the older experienced players like Vieira, Henry, Toure, Lehmann , Ljungberg and instead bring in Clichy, Song & Co..

We have enough experience in guys like Nesta, Zambrotta, Yepes. MvB, Ambro, Seedorf and Abiatti now. (more than enough).

I'd say in our 'crowded' midfield just MvB, Prince, Ambro, Seedorf and Merkel are assured to be here on August 31st.

Remaining - Flamini, Rino, Strasser, Urby are rumored to be on the way out as some part of loans/sale/trade bait. And we will surely have a world class mid coming in for Pirlo. So market is far away from done.

Thats easily debatable and a personal opinion. Both have positives and negatives..

seedorf is versatile and is physically superior, hes the better choice between them.

Go back to what this forum had to say in the best players of the season thread.
Almost every season we evaluated players Seedorf was ahead.

Bravo Clarence!

He was great in the 2nd leg against Tham, shit in the rest of the games.

Ibra was great in the group stage, sucked against Tham.

Dinho was great in the first game against Auxerre, sucked otherwise.

Pato missed too many games.

None of our players were consistently good/great.

We could not have afforded to lose both him AND Pirlo in one offseason. Grazie Clarence. :proud:
