But overall I think he has partnered with Nesta brilliantly. Definitely one of the best center back pairings in Europe.

To bad we do not have an equal as I would nudge him towards full back with his speed and offensive capabilities. Its kind of a waste. If we were still running Anc's formation I would definitely give him free reign.

He's barely been with us for half a season and you want him to retire here already?

Why not? He has fit in brilliantly from the get go with almost no learning curve. Nesta has had nothing but pleasantries regarding him and I believe Maldini has the same.

He has worked and tried his ass off for this team and seriously made a difference.

My only critique thus far is his tendency to loose focus here and there during a match which he usually makes up for but other than that I think he has held his own and then some.

Cassano didn't know what hit him. I think Cassano only got passed him once ... and guess who was there to clear up the mess? :proud:

If i had to choose to have Silva injured this season now is the best time just before the winter break and with Bonera returning even so we are going to miss him against the likes of Palermo and the viola.

Hopefully Bonera can take advantage of this situation and get some confidence like Antonini and Abate. But the injury is bad and I hope it's not a long layoff like Oddo's. We would be seriously crippled then. Kalazde or Bonera with Nesta is managable. Issue is if Nesta also goes down, we are as good as starting 1 or 2 goals down with 2 of Favalli, Kalazde and Bonera as our CBs. Hopefully G wil get us a good CB in winter.

hope he recovers soon... we can't deal with kaladze back in defence. he cam on and within 5 minutes Alphonse beat him and then blew an easy chance. Nesta tried to cover for Kala but couldn't get there in time. Anyways, I wish a speedy recovery to Thiago and in the meantime, I hope Bonera is fit, because Kala is a disaster.

Milan Sweat Over Thiago Silva Injury

The Brazilian limped off with a calf problem last night and will undergo scans later today.

Dec 9, 2009 8:05:47 AM

AC Milan centre-back Thiago Silva is a major doubt for the Rossoneri’s Serie A home clash with Palermo next Sunday.

The 25-year-old was forced off with a problem in his left calf just 20 minutes into yesterday’s 1-1 draw away to Zurich in the Champions League.

According to MilanNews.it, the Rossoneri team doctors fear the former Fluminense man suffered a calf sprain that could keep his sidelined for a few games.

The player will undergo further tests later this morning to assess the exact extent of the damage.

It is Thiago Silva’s second injury setback this season after he sustained a thigh problem last September.

yep..i saw that..its bad, but our depth in defense is ridiculous..people are either injured or to old to perform anymore..i wish T.Silva the speediest of recoveries and hope to see him back soon..

Fuck it!! Noooo, not for a whole month, please not, we need him!!!
We have some important games now, I can't believe it, why are always the players injured that we really need. He will def. be missed because he's doing really well with Nesta in the central defense.

I hope Bonera replaces him because Kala is only making shit performances, as we again saw yesterday, so we need someone else who's playing better than him and that should be Bonera.

I wish Thiago all the best, please recover as fast as you can, we need you!!

This sucks. Silva+Nesta is pure Godness. Now we have to hope for consistant good performances from either Favalli, Bonera or Kaladze.

the only good news is that Bonera is supposedly healthy. Bonera will do fine, but if Bonera is not healthy and we play Kalamity back in defence we will not do well. also, this is a clear signal we need to either bring in a quality defender in january, or just try and get Astori back for depth. I'd feel much more comfortable with Bonera and Astori backing Nesta and Silva up rather than Kaladze.

This is why i love berlumerda. Instead of actually giving a shit and buying decent backups hes getting his face plastered on rolling stone and cleavages of 18year olds. Such an awsome president! How awsome is he?.....................SO AWSOME!!

So awesome he got us Silva in the first place. As long as he took to start the rebuilding phase, you just cannot build a team overnight. And as long as he's a Prime Minister, his hands are pretty much tied, he can't be seen splashing the cash with the current economical situation.

our depth at defense is more than comparable w/ rest of big dogs in serie A.

-Juve has cannavaro and cheillini backed up by the super awesome LEGGROTAGGLIE!
-Inter has samuel and Lucio backed by a 35 year old cordoba and 36 year old materazzi. And on that not lucio is no reliability.
-Someone name fioretina's back up cbs for me.
-Hell you can even go to real madrid if you wanna look. you guys want metzelder? garay?

Behind Keeper, CB is hardest position to have class backups, because teams don't rotate a defense. So a class CB will NOT stand to be on bench. Only older ones will

Hate to disappoint you, but Bonera will also miss another 1-2 months with a calf problem. I swear, Milan Lab is slowly killing our players.
