abt milan hiding something..: LOL gettin' nervous here..this stuff should be in the official site! :)

What do you mean Milan is hiding something? Milan is a private company held by Berlusconi and he is free to do whatever the hell he likes with the company and he doesnt have to disclose anything.

This season I don't think anybody at Milan has pulled his weight and I can understand perfectly why Marina Berlusconi is pissed off. From a Financial point of view, they are getting fucked by the players performances.

I think the best run clubs in football are prolly Lyon and Bayern together with Real Madrid. Real Madrid does an unreal job in making money on merchandising and in TV rights etc. which enables them to overpay over the hill losers. But at least they can justify it cos they get billions back in TV revenues and merchandising.

But as berlusconi owns the rights to the milan games through his mediaset empire, he doesnt generate the same amount of money from his TV rights. Maybe this is why they are a bit reluctant to shelll out the cash for players anymore. Maybe if he could also work out a deal where they can sell Milan rights for a billion dollars, he too could stop worrying about his cashflows.

price Waterhouse recently released a report that said Milan has the third highest revenues after Real and Man U. If so, we most certainly are spedning this money very unwisely 'cos except for Kaka, who do we have to show as a bondfide superstar?

We're forgetting that footballers can only work till they're 35-40. Apart from a handful of retired players who successfully make into coaching staffs or as TV-presenters/football analysts, most will still have families to support (including their above-average maintenance wives, children to send to school, etc). In this respect, I can understand why players flock to money as they have little time to earn it before they go back to normal ordinary work. The average football player’s salary is not too over the top, considering most of us 'unlucky' ones will have a steady job till we are 55-60. Players at the big clubs could be compared to our future managers, CEOs, etc.

LOL :D Man, you got good posts, but this one certainly isn't one of them.

Football players get enough money that if they spend their whole life spending it wouldn't finish...C'mon, when you take 15 Million/year or 10 Million or even 8 Million, that's too much...

Some people don't have enough money to feed their kids...

and you say football players don't get enough money for the rest of their life...pathetic :o

The players not only get the wage pay but they also have some win bonus and goal bonus or even high appearacne fee ! Also, the football players can become famous star and then some company will ask them make ads for them, which can earn a lot of money. Some football players also use their money do the business like Kaladze has a restaurant in Milan and some hotels in a country, Gattuso has a shop about the cloth and i think all the cloths are number 8. The smarties is Billy in my opinion, he shares in stock and earn a lot of money.

The whole development is out of control. But compared to other sports, football players don't even make that much (see Schumi, Tiger Woods etc), yet it's still way too much *IMO*(based on my socialist egalitarian ideas :D ) As long as we consume the product football + are willing to pay whatever we're asked ... footballers' wages (incl. rises) are safe :D
Of course these are the elite players that are winning more than they should, but let's go around and look for the rest, most of them (needless to say the sorry ass salaries small team players get in my country, and in here those players get zero for ads, and probably dedicated to football cause that's really really the only thing they can do, and they aren't that great at, so yeah they earn little + after they retire at 35 they have to become taxi drivers). But yeah in general football being the most important sport in the world, well the salaries the players get aren't even near of those like Tiger or Alex Rodriguez (or throw any NBA+NFL+MLB name).

That's what is wrong, their salaries, I can live with, winning for merchandizing their names, whatever, but bonuses for doing what they have to...just wrong.

FM salaries: Favalli + Oliveira's are probably the ones that I just can't believe...those can't be too acurate.

Well guys, thousand apologies for the bad post :) But, I was referring to the average player, of which are the majority and don't play in first divisions (forget the big European powerhouses). I know a few footballers here in Romania (playing in the second division) that don't get paid much. Considering the risk injuries + traveling have on a player's career and family, I think most are underpaid.

But I do agree with you about players in bigger (first division) clubs. As I mentioned, we could compare them to the few CEOs or managers compared to their many envious subordinates. But yeah, the massive amounts of money in the game (at higher levels) today have taken its toll on a player's attitude towards the game and clubs.

The moral: Stay in school

Beckham's personal fortune is down to his £4.4m a year contract with Real,
Chelsea's Andriy Shevchenko is the top foreign earner playing in England in seventh place, his £121,000-a-week deal at Stamford Bridge helping to swell his wealth to £22m, £1m ahead of Arsenal's Thierry Henry.
why is andriy earning less than michael o_O

Millions of people won't ever earn as much money as some earn in a week, ironic isn't it. Bloody bureaucracy.

Another Chelsea summer import, Michael Ballack, completes the top 10 with with a relatively modest figure of £18m despite his £130,000-a-week deal.

well now we know that FM is a false information for sure :p

Dida gets under 2,7 million pounds or like that:

The Brazilian has allegedly asked for a £3.2m per season deal, whereas the Rossoneri are not willing to offer any more than £2.7m.

As s.o. else said, Chelsea saved big since he was a free transfer + therefore they apparently agreed to whatever dude demanded. Ballack is actually not stupid. He even went to school for 12 years + made his 'Abitur' (equivalent of highschool diploma, A levels, Bac... whatever).

of course he is not stupid, stupid is just a nickname, :D
he is pretty smart actually, convincing chelski and roman to give him more than 130.000 a week..! anyone who makes more money than him? per week?

but the link fiore posted, are those the real figures??
or we dunno abt the real figures?

Did you even read what it said?

Christ this annoys me, the ignorance of people so much that they disregard anything a specific person has to say, just because they don't like them.

Maybe if you actually took the time and bothered to read the quote - not just who said it, you would realise the merit that this statement actually holds.

He's acknowledging that no matter how much 'pressure' the public mounts on him, that in the overall perspective of life, it is insignificant.

Probably one of the most humane statements I have heard from anyone associated with football in general, not from the mouth of an idiot...

Kaladze is good but 4 million is way too much for him. Our total wage bill is 120 million euros, 10 more than Inter. Inter's highest paid players are Vieira, Adriano and Ibra, each taking home 5 million net.

There is not a single player at Lazio who earns a million!!

Buffon earns 5 million, and Del Piero 4.8.

So Kaka is the highest earner in Serie A. So his new contract must really push him to another level. I would say it will probably see him earn 7.5-8, bringing him to the level of Ronaldinho (who takes home approximately 8 million euros).

Simic,Serginho,Ronaldo earn way to much for what they bring to the team .The first two hardly play and ronaldo is injured since he cammed here.

And if buffon earns 5 mil dida should earn about 3 .The rest seem pretty ok.

Kaka is the most highly paid with €6m a season followed by Totti (€5.4m), Adriano, Buffon, Zlatan and Vieira (all €5m).

Fav. Players
Baresi - Maldini - Nesta - Jessica Alba
LOL , Favali make as much as Maldini :D
Thats alone is a reason 4 Maldini 2 retire.
And Sergi + Cafu take away 2mil each while our hope + future earn 1 mil in Gour. :o
But since he wont play + soon will change 2 a better team than us then I guess 1mil is still 2 much.
