great potential this guy has, and he been a very primising player in all those yrs

we should realy REALLY get him in, or let him sign a pre contract so he joins us,when his contact runs out at udinese

and yepes could help his compariot to settle in at the club

and I still stand by what i said 14 months ago

Welcome Zapata

Was a beast at Udinese at times. Don't know what happened at Villarreal though, seems like he flopped big time. It's a try worth.

Sky reports that Zapata is a non-EU player, so therefore Milan won't be able to sign another non-EU player in this transfer window.

Dzeko we could have....

Van Persie... we can!

Zapata was 2005–2011 in italy, hasn't he gained the nationality yet?

I love this move.

He's a quality defender with ability to be world class. Still young for a CB. Sure it's a bit of a gamble, but I've always preferred him to Mexes for ex.

If there is one thing I believe in at milan, it's our coaching staff's ability to work with defenders. We should get the most out of him. What that 'most' is, I'm not sure.

I still don't understand what happened at villareal. I mean I get, they lost their best player, but they have way too much talent to get relegated. A drop to like mid-lower table (10-14) could be expected but relegation?!

Who did they lose?

I've forgotten...

The players I remember them having: Pablo, Gonzalo Rodriguez, Riquelme, Nihat, Altidore, Cani..

I know by now you mean Rossi, but my god they had a good team on paper if they kept them all.

haha... riquelme hasn't been there in ages :)

they also sold santi....

bruno, diego lopez, borja valero, mattia mustacchio, zapata, cani, marcos senna, nilmar

I mean ok... no santi or rossi will hurt a lot but not RELEGATION hurt.

Who did they sell Cazorla too? Or do you mean the injury?

I know some of them left a while ago but still.. Forgot about Senna, Nilmar, Borja Valero, Bruno and Diego Lopez.

He'd be a coup for arsenal. Winger/AM with a brain.

Good luck to zapata, hopefully can show some of his udinese form at least we have a bit of pace at CB now. Any financial details yet?

Welcome back to Serie A Cristian! I hope he gets to his Udinese level. He really will be useful, and IMO this is a good move. Well done :g:

I'm still like meh.

He was a beast in Udinese, but a flop in Villarreal. Maybe he can find hes old strenght and make a super comeback? We can only hope.

Classy transfer from :g:

Not really. If Zapata rediscovers his form, him + MexSex will form a very solid CB partnership.

yes they are lol. mexes has always been mentally weak that's why he's never been a top defender.

zapata made so many stupid mistakes with villareal.

just imagine them as a partnership? :fp: :fp: :fp:
