One big issue in derbies is that Inter's strengths are our weaknesses.
Our starters can't maintain intensity for long.
We've only had strong second halves when there were great impact subs on the bench who could re-energize the team, which has not been the case in these initial games due to the absences and the new signings' unfamiliarity with the team.
Inter on the other hand have some of the most enduring players in Serie A, and a bunch of quality players on the bench to revive them. We might see a repeat of the last derby.
We allow too many attempts from good angles outside the box, unopposed. Sometimes it's because Frank and Ismael's simultaneous high pressure backfired. Or it's fatigue from the AM trio. Or just poor awareness. Either way, we're conceding a lot of goals this way. Inter punished us heavily for this last season.
And now they have Vidal and Nainggolan, but luckily Radja will miss this game.
Inter score more goals from headers than any other team in Serie A.
20. That's 6 more than Atalanta, on 2nd place.
14 more than us.
We don't have a single player that can pull off difficult headers.
Many of them don't even stand a chance in aerial duels.
Things have certainly improved since the days when 180cm short Musacchio and Romagnoli were our main CB pair. Ibra has also mitigated the problem on defensive set-pieces, along with Kjaer.
But it proved to not be enough against the likes of Lukaku and De Vrij.
