Strange that Chelsea played such a strong team tonight, i counted 8 first team players by the end of the match. I suppose di matteo is feeling some pressure, pretty sure they are going to find this weekend difficult though. Wouldnt be surprised at all if they drop points.

They only rested 3 players. Even Ramires came on at HT whilst Oscar/Hazard came on in the 2nd half. Everyone else was injured/suspended.

I wasn't surprised though. This, along with disgustingly easy draws, is the main reason why they do so well in the cups. They always field strong teams regardless of who they're playing.

In the Cups? Last season we drew City away followed by Liverpool away. This season we drew Newcastle at home and Chelsea away.
From 06-09 we drew something like 19 Premiership teams out of 21 rounds with half being away from home against top half Premiership sides whilst Chelsea had a free pass to the 1/4 finals every season.

Give us some sympathy please.
