let's calm down and not do that whole cesena thing again thinking about how bad we will beat them only to be given a lesson in modesty and what being humble is supposed too.We have the first chance but do not underestimate them

'Fantastic draw' - Harry

AC are currently top of Serie A, six points clear of Juventus having lost just twice.

:rolleyes::rolleyes:
I hope we aint gonna get a spurs fan invasion in the forum a.k.a Man UTD fans, Fenerbahce fans etc :o
+1
There midfield is the only threat for me. There forwards are not good enough to threaten Milan defense IMO. You don't need to be a great defender to contain the likes of Defoe and Crouch.
Pavlyuchenko has quality. He's just not consistent. But he's capable of changing games on his day. Crouch will also cause problems with his aerial presence ... especially if VDV plays off him well.

Good news for me is that King might not make it. Means its a serious injury and unless they reinforce in Jan, chances are they wont improve defensively. Midfield will e tight, and we should pack it up + win that battle.

Of course, the main problem is that they like to use their width ... which would especially be a problem for a narrow midfield like ours. The quality (main pace + strength) of their wide players makes us even more vulnerable on the flanks ... especially considering our wing backs ... Solution to this I feel is to have our 'trequartista' work extra hard in dropping deep into central midfield, allowing the LCM and RCM to protect their flanks adequately. Binho also dropping deep to cover a flank (wingback) would also counter their great wide attacks ...

We need to bring in a LB ... maybe we can get past Spurs with Zambro, but later on against better opposition, I fear we will come short.

Here's my lineup:

----------------------- Abs
Abate --- Nesta ------- Silva ------ New LB/Zambro
---- Gattuso --- Ambro ----- Flamini
---------------------- KPB
--------------- Ibra -------- Binho

Yes. Pato on the bench. Unless he can work as hard as Binho, then we simply have to in order to maintain our new-found balance.

This. Was discussing it earlier elsewhere, Robinho also works hard helping track back in defense, his workrate will be needed. On the other hand Pato can come on later in the game when their defense is tired, we can use his pace and explosiveness in a better way.

Yeah ... best scenario would be him playing similarly to how Binho is playing now. That way, I would love to at least see how Binho does in the trequartista role. Sure, he isn't the greatest passer ... but neither is KPB mind. KPB could still be effective in CM ...

I think it shouldn't be too hard for Pato to pull off. I think he played similarly during Carlo's last season around winter ... when he played his best matches in our colours.

Our defense is hilariously underrated. Oh well, it's better if they're unprepared. :D

Seriously, we have the best defense in a defensive league, you'd think that would carry a bit more weight. The Spurs fans on their website don't have a very good impression of our team (think Dinho is still starting, someone mentioned playing Janku as a winger, etc). I'm sure Spurs will be a bit more prepared than their fans, but I find it very interesting we're considered to have a weak defense.

Zambrotta is a big game player and if rested can still give us some good games in the CL. Abate has improved a ton, and we have the best CB pairing in the world

Gattuso and Abate can take care of Bale, Ambro can handle VdV, Pirlo and Prince can bully whoever else as need be, and that leaves Zambro, Nesta, and Silva to deal with whatever is left.

Ibra and co can take care of that shit defense

we can never match them with pace never, they do that rugby shit coast to coast day in and day out and bale's crosses are too good.
I am so afraid of nesta in this game, that man cant jump anymore and crouche might make his life uncomfortable esp in the away game. that night nesta wouldnt be able to spare a single minute on covering up for mediocre fbs.
if we try to counter the fullbacks with our midfield then modric and vdv will tear us apart there is no other option than buying a solid LB.
we need to make sure our Cbs and zlatan are fit for the tie cant go in the tie with any weakness

if we sign a solid FB we can win the tie

Underestimating the quality they have is foolish and stakes are too high to do that
So bring the beast on!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0JaFte9p6Y

nesta still clears everything out of the box with his head, nobody can out jump crouch that's why you put someone physical on him to push him out of that way, Ibra on Crouch is the best option really.

Milan are certainly favorites for the tie and I even said I didn't mind getting Tottenham because we are the better team. But the more and more I look at it, it just seems harder and harder. Bale will surely cause problems for us and their offence is packed with talent. We do have the better overall team and I think Milan will win cause of 1 main reason: experience in the knockout round.

the tottenham match up will be a tough one no doubt..but with our squad the way it is, and how we have been playing, and how consistent it is compared to seasons past..we might not make it really far in CL this season, but i don't think there will be any issues with tottenham..

Yea, otherwise we can't really defend against Crouch's height.

This is true i just think their main weapon is gonna be through speed and crosses and there will be no ibra around for that. Corners i think we will be fine despite crouch. Hes better to use his head for passing than scoring, much like ibra in that regard.

I think Tottenham has a solid team but i dont c them beating us. So i havent watched more than maybe 3 games and some highlights with them but their speed is not only possitive. They loose alot of balls trying to counter fast in the games i watched. Think that could be costly when playing Milan.

Tottenham have a shit defense and we have a great attack, we simply have to score a nice amount of goals, at least in the home match.
Our defense is miles better than Spurs', also our midfield isn't bad.
I'm confident we can beat them, won't be that easy, everything can happen in football, but anyways we should beat them.

exactly..i can see ibra and robinho having no issues in their defense..i have watched several of their matches, including CL, and they only have a couple players to worry about..Bale hasn't proved to me yet that he can play consistently good..

Hello Milan fans, all the talk on here is about Gareth Bale. Yeah he's a great player but ain't no where near are best player. For me this is the best draw we could of got, a team like ac milan who like to attack is perfect for Tottenham, and more you attack the more the pace of Bale, Lennon, Defoe, Hutton will come into the game. If we can keep the score down in the san siro then its game over at White hart lane. The game vs Parma on the 13th feb will this go ahead? or be put back to the 12th. Thanks Milan fans and good luck vs Roma. Forza milano

There will be Aberdeen fans over in Milan with Spurs. I'm sure they'll be polite guests.

well, i doubt that Milan will attack Tottenham as much as you want..it will be a smart game from Milan, trying to avoid any possible goal from Tottenham and in the end it will be 1-0, goal scored by..hmm, ibrahimovic
