Scholes > Alonso and I wanted two box to box beats in midfield. In short, I picked the 3 best midfielders the EPL has seen.

I'm currently thinking of a lineup that can include Nesta, Lugano, Vidic, Chiellini, T. Silva and De Rossi in defense.

My favorite lineup (of players I've seen)

This is the best formation I could think of at the top of my head, and it consists of players I have followed since I began to closely observing football, meaning no Van Basten's Maradona's whom I never had the pleasure of watching.

I like this team, especially the inclusion of Redondo and Totti, and also Gattuso because many forget what a great DM he was 10-5 years ago...

The number of Buffon's suprises me. Not denying that he is/was an amazing keeper and one of the best ever, but I never knew so many on here considered him THE best (atleast from who they've seen).

Yeah, most Serie A fans have a boner for Buffon, including me.

My number two is Schemeichel though

I used to love him during his prime, such a shame that his kid never made it big.

It's a shame that i believe most of you guys never seen Lothar Matthäus. He was the most complete midfielder and very versatile player. He can mark, tackle, drive forward, pass, cross and score. Truly MASTER class.

Yeah, he can be total hot head. He was the iron man, very very tough to beat. The only player that played in 5 WC : 82, 86, 90, 94, 98.

Buffon at his best is the undisputed best for me - zero doubts about that. I had seen most of Schmeichel at his prime as well, and he's probably the next in the list. Among players that I've seen, that is.
