Just finished reading Nineteen Eighty-Four... good god that was depressing..

Ending made me want to shoot myself. I understand the significance of the book, but it really makes you want to collect every single copy of the book and burn it

Alexander - God of War

Anyone interested in the man, well worth a read

It's a historical fiction, like it signposts actual events that happens but fills the bits in between with possible things that could well have happened.

Paints a interesting picture

Been reading "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" by William Shirer. It is said to be the definitive book about Nazi Germany (out of curiosity, not trying to emulate the evil ways). Tried to find it for years, finally have it last year and just started last week. 1,200+ pages and I'm only at the 'Munich Beer Hall Putsch'. Long way to go.

I just finished this..phew..took me two months.

Time for something abit lighter now I think

How will it be personal development if you follow the instructions made by someone else?

It's not about following instructions.
At least the books I'm looking for do not contain checklists of what to do to improve yourself, it contains different new views on social/bussiness interactions that can help you develop yourself.

Being proactive and searching for more knowledge on how to improve in a certain area is never a bad thing imo.

Reading in a book on how to make friends seems creepy to me.

I see where you're coming from but it's not what you think it is.

Enlargening your network for both social and bussiness purposes is something I consider very important. It helps if you know lots about the little things of communication. When you know more about social interaction you pick certain signals up quicker, in turn you can react quicker before the opportunity fades etc.

For me it's all about using knowledge for your own advantage.

Btw I do have to say I'm fairly new to these kinds of books and I'm yet to find/read a good one, hence I ask for recomendations :D

I learned more from my time as a direct salesman than from these books until now.

Wait... hold on a minute... are you really gonna come forward with the argument that psychologists are not creepy?

All I'm saying is that if you wanna learn about social interaction then meeting and talking to people would be the best option.

Also that is how good phycologists became good.

By studying people, not books.
