Everyone else needs an asset whether it's being strong as a ox (Lukaku), Pace to burn (Auba) or great technique (iBra)

The better ones like Aguero and Higuain have a little bit of everything

The average ass shitbirds are the "pure finishers" who we haven't seen a genuinely world class one since Inzaghi....and this is why I kind of FEAR getting Belotti / Mandzukic.....because even though they might have scored a ton of goals at one time or the other they really don't have the or an X factor that makes them special...that would be a bit of a guarantee ANYWHERE they play, under any system or formation.

You can take a guy like Aubameyang, with his pace or Lukaku with his strength, and you know that they will fit into any team and will score at a decent rate.....put some of these absurd specialist finishers in other teams/systems and they'll look like pure shit.

Well, even with a wc striker we wouldn't make a far better team than we are currently. Still would rather spend 60 mill on two good wingers than on a single cf. Put 2 good wingers and good AM even behind Bacca or Cutrone and we will be much better.
Bonna-Hakan-Suso as a second choices and we will do good.

Obviously there are players that don't have any special characteristic, but are decent at positioning and will score a bunch....but you've completely understood my post and in so doing actually tried to insult my understanding which makes you look even worse.

Also Gilardino had good technique. He wasn't fast but, again proving what I said earlier, he had decent positioning and technique. He also never crossed 20 league goals for Milan in a stacked team of P!rl0, Dorf, Kaka etc.....There's a reason why Carlo didn't trust his ass in the CL.

Players like MM, Kalinic, Belotti etc will undoubtedly thrive in some systems - most usually those employed by the small teams - but are often unable to replicate that sort of form at the bigger clubs. This is also why the likes of Borriello, Quagliarella etc were unable to repeat their form with the bigger clubs they played for.
