@manure fan, how do you find Nick Powell? Think he'll be ready to start in midfield in a couple of years?

I'm going to send my CV in for the job, citing my Football Manager experience.

Also, Fergie time!

Ah for fuck sake, there goes my dream job.

Everton can confirm that David Moyes will leave the Club at the end of the season.

The Manager met Chairman Bill Kenwright early yesterday evening (Wednesday 8th May) and confirmed his desire to join Manchester United. The Chairman, on behalf of the Club, would like to place on record his thanks to David for the massive contribution he has made to Everton since his arrival in March 2002. He has been an outstanding Manager.
During his tenure at Goodison Park, David has taken charge of the team on over 500 occasions including four European campaigns.
His final two games as Everton Manager will be the remaining Premier League matches against West Ham United and Chelsea. Everton officials will start the search for a replacement manager immediately.

Not necessarily. If he does a good job, yes we hate on him, but if he fucks up and every United fan wants his job, we defend and praise the man to the stars. :D

I would make an effort to watch a Carrick-Fellaini midfield and/or a Baines-Young left side.

Any1 here think that moyes might just be a 'yes' man? Fergie had power (mind you, it took 26 years) moyes? he has fuck all.

At Everton he had a budget of a tenner... so I dont really know if he likes to spend big n get star names. Strong stories abt Ron coming back... no one can say that moyes has input on that!

Also, Failaini?? Eww!

Moyes is a good choice for a coach to replace SAF, but giving him a 6 year contract is utter ******** on United`s part.

It doesn't really mean anything concrete.

It's to show stability and trust... there's probably a clause where an agreement can be reached for his resignation if he's seen to be performing poorly..

Pardew has like 8 years, but he can be booted out with minimum fanfare and with little cost.

Big contracts mean nothing but a spectacle.

Well it depends usually when a coach gets dismissed by a top team, they do get pretty nice severance payments.

Moyes does well on a limited budget. The Glazers will fucking love him as long as he spends peanuts and gets us into the CL every season a la Wenger.

Plus, it seems like SAF and Sir Bobby Charlton were the main reasons we got Moyes. They both chose him. Still can't believe SAF is going

Regardless of what you think of United or Moyes, the club acts well in situations like this.

The manager will have the full support of the board. None of this player power shit, no negotiations lasting months or rumors surrounding the club from directors. Unlike say Chelsea, United act like quickly in most situations and do things the right way (other than the choice of manager!).

A 6 year deal is an indication of how much support Moyes will get. If any players have a problem with it, they'll be fucked off. No player will ever decide how the club is run. Moyes is seen as someone who will carry on United's tradition so he'll be supported.

Strong rumors suggesting Scholes and Giggs will become player-coaches.

I know wot u mean... last time I felt like this was when school ended. Or that scene in Godfather where Brando dies (actually, that scene is pretty funny but the overall impact I mean).

Surely you mean most succesful English club besides Liverpool...

But Kenny Dalglish is a Scotsman as well, so I guess the question is still valid.

Correct answer. Dominated Scottish football through the majesty of 4-4-1-1, Willie Miller and classic Adidas kits.

Still - Ferguson, Shankly, Busby...we have our uses. They're all from around Glasgow though, so it's not really any of my business.
