Recently Mihael Modic signed his first professional contract with AC Milan at the young age of 16. Destined for stardom, the winger is already being compared to Kaka and has been tipped to become a future Rossoneri legend.
His older brother Andrej Modic raised eyebrows when given the opportunity to play 45 minutes in friendly versus Chiasso with first team players.
On lookers Massimiliano Allegri, Pippo Inzaghi and Clarence Seedorf were surprised at the how calm the youngster was on the ball and at the marvelous technically ability he displayed. Andrej Modic quickly took control of the midfield and even outplayed Kaka on his AC Milan return.
The excellent technical abilities that he displayed during the match as well as demonstrating his quality from dead-ball expertise immediately lead to comparisons with Andrea Pirlo, one the best midfielders of his generation.
The story of the Modic brothers starts in Kotor Varos, where AC Milan scouted them while they played in a local youth tournament.
Being so impressed by these youngsters, the AC Milan scouts right away offered to sign the Modic brothers to the famed AC Milan Academy, which has produced players such as Maldini and Costacurta.
Mihael ”Mico” Modic (winger, 01.14.1998) dubbed the “Next Kaka” has enjoyed a successful youth career winning the prestigious Lennart Johansson Trophy at an International cup and being crowned the best player of the tournament, notching four assists in the first match alone. Mico is a skillful young winger who can operate on either wing or as a striker, he combines technical ability with blistering pace and has a fine left foot.
He also displays magnificent grace on the ball, and is able to work his way out of a tight spots with sublime ball control and sheer confidence, he is very highly rated in the Milan youth set up.
Andrej Modic (Midfielder, 03/07/1996) is a complete central midfielder who ideally operates as the playmaker in a three-man midfield. After impressing in his first outing with the “A” team, Andrej was instantly placed on the bench for AC Milan’s next champions league match at only 17 years old.
AC Milan’s coaches have showed an incredible amount of confidence in the youngster who is tipped to make his San Siro debut in the near future. Andrej’s has remarkable ball control, vision, rare tactical intelligence, and is able to assert himself and control the midfield at will. He is also a current member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina under-19 team and hopefully the senior squad in the future.
