Looks like a singing that was made because a midfield signing had to be made and there was no money left.

Imagine having a Barella out there instead

I have no clue why Gattuso sub Jack with Bakayoko. Bakayoko could not play there, he lacks of attacking skills. He should be backup for Biglia (first game should not be judged as his maximum ability) or Kessie (with more defensive tasks).

At the moment, his level is Bakaye Traore. Let's hope it improves.

He's no anchor and Rino shouldn't waste any time on it.

He's also not as suitable for box-to-box running as Kessie, so if the choice is between those two then Kessie any day.

If there's a place for him in the XI, with Kessie, then it's them flanking an anchor in a midfield-3.

Baka-Biglia-Kessie doesn't seem like the most optimal choice for the home games against minnows though, even with our midfield options,

As for his performance against Caglari - he came in for Bona when we were chasing goals.....wtf

Looked quite shite, but with some glimpses of good, when nobody expected. I think he had around 2 really nice passes. But, yeah, not sure what role he's supposed to play.

Probably better suited for a 2-man pivot/CM in a 4 midfielder formation. He isn't a mezzala nor a regista.

when it rains it pours in here. He was not bad in my opinion. won the ball back very well a couple of times had some good passes. Our subs suffered from not being familiar with each other more than anything else.

I think he needs more game time in my opinion, him laxalt, and castilejo. then we can judge them.

True.
Kessie doesn't complement him like Fabinho did at Monaco though.
We're not gonna change formation and leave Kessie out for Bakayoko.

Should start in Bona's spot.

Disagree, Bona is a good player.

This team lacks goal scoring threat and Bonaventura as frustrating as he is, is probably our second or third biggest threat to goal at the moment. He just has a great goal sense, if Hakan and Suso had half the goal sense they’d be world class players.

Bonaventura for now owns that LCM spot until Hakan, Suso or someone else like Castillejo steps up and provides us with more goals.

Happy with Bakayoko today though, he was fantastic and hopefully it’s the start of something.
