28 aint old, but I dont want to be having to replace or upgrade players every bloody 3/4 years as players get slower and decline. The Milan I know has built a repuatation on players coming and staying for 5/6/7/8... 20 years, and signing 28/29 years olds just cos their cheap aint really the way I want us to go. Mexes complimented by a Sakho type signing helps us on two fronts, quality player for cheap, younger more expensive player that can develop and stay for longer.
Just getting Mexes cos he's cheap, then seeing Nesta decline even more next term or deciding to retire would leave us with Silva, Mexes, Bonera, Yepes as our CB choices
Mexes in January, fair enough, but we have to be a little bit more forward thinking in the Summer!
reports suggest we have finally completed the signing of roderigo ely.
so that's one for the future now lets think about the present.
