I think they'll keep the opposition guessing. 90% will be Pirlo kicks, but Balotelli will take a few when unexpected.

Mario will take more when they're on the edge of the box. Pirlo is going to take all of the others.

Watch their goals this season. Should be opposite. (in reality they will rotate both positions)

Italy are gonna get rekt. England too speed, too youth for those semi-retired boring pizza faces. Their only decent player is Parlour but our Captain Stevie G is better.

Fuckin 'ell cant wait. :jump:

'Pitch could ruin Italy-England'

FIGC Vice-President Demetrio Albertini is horrified by the state of the pitch in Manaus. “I hope it doesn’t ruin Italy-England.”

With a little over 48 hours to go until their Group D World Cup opening game, the playing surface at the Arena Amazonas was pictured looking uneven, dry and in some areas even burnt.

“We saw the images and were aware of the state of the pitch,” Albertini told Sky Sport Italia.

“Our delegation arrived last night and will today inspect the pitch and stadium. It’s certainly not pleasing to play on a field like this and we hope that it can be raised to the level expected for a World Cup.

“I hope the pitch doesn’t ruin the spectacle of the Italy-England game.”

Federation Vice-President Albertini commented on the Azzurri’s decisions around the long journeys between venues in Brazil.

“We chose the training camp in Mangaratiba because it has a pitch within the hotel, so we eliminated the need for more travelling.

“The World Cup is an incredible opportunity with so much media attention. The young players understand that too and we hope our lads can give us something to celebrate.”

The World Cup itself kicks off tonight with Brazil-Croatia, but protests are continuing with a CNN reporter injured and rubber bullets allegedly fired by police.

“We are not afraid of the protests, but we saw the concern when we travelled for the friendly with Fluminense and could sense a heavy police escort presence.”

'Buffon & Pirlo are fundamental'
By Football Italia staff

Giorgio Chiellini has conceded that Italy need to take ‘good care’ of Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo.

The Azzurri are currently on their way to Manaus to take on England in their World Cup opener on Saturday evening.

And the defender has insisted that his club mates are ‘fundamental’ to the national team’s success.

“We had so much bad luck at the last World Cup, losing our two most important players to injury,” he told FIFA.com.

“It really had a negative impact on our campaign. But now that we’ve got them fit and firing again, we’re hoping to go much further, even though we’re in a tough group.

“Pirlo and Buffon are our most important players. They’ve got character and they make the whole team play, so we need to take good care of them.”

The 29-year-old then commented on the age of the two teams that will take to the pitch in the jungle.

“Our team’s a little bit younger than it was at Euro 2012, though I think England have gone even further than us in that respect.”

Probable line-ups:

Buffon - Darmian, Paletta, Barzagli, Chiellini - De Rossi - Candreva, Verratti, Pirlo, Marchisio - Balotelli

Sirigu, Perin, Thiago Motta, Abat, Cassano, Cerci, Aquilani, Immobile, Parolo, Bonucci, Insigne

Italy benefits because they're slow and are only good for defending/buying referees.

Come on England.

Well, everyone is good at something...england are specialized for going home before knock out stage
