De Laurentiis storms out!
delaurentiisnews.jpg

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis furiously stormed out of the Serie A draw. “I am ashamed to be Italian! I’m going back to cinema.”

The patron had hoped his team would not have difficult fixtures close to the Champions League games. After only a few fixtures had been revealed by the computer, De Laurentiis reacted very angrily.

He swore at the gathered Serie A club Presidents, FIGC members and media in the Lega hall as he walked away.

“It’s all been mapped out against us,” he blasted. “Enough is enough, I’m going back to cinema.

“I’m ashamed to be Italian! I want to change citizenship!”

Napoli will face Milan in Week 3, which is just four days after their Champions League debut.

They’ll also face Inter in Week 6, only three days after the second round of the group phase.

De Laurentiis has long been a vocal critic of the football world, having taken over Napoli in Serie C after their bankruptcy.

He is most famous as part of one of the world’s biggest movie producer dynasties.

In a truly bizarre detail, it's reported De Laurentiis was so eager to get away from the Lega hall that he asked for a lift from a passing teenager on a scooter.

Or if they play the Saturday (unlikely) I might get a birthday win.

I am flying into Milan on Fri 28/10 and was hoping to see Milan play, but they are playing at Roma that weekend. To make it worse the Derby d'Italia is on.

I should get to see the Catania game the next weekend as long as it is on the Sunday.

Am I right assuming that the winter break starts at 19/12/11 to 08/01/12????

Was concerned that Taiwo+KPB might be out for a while .

Afcon Dates January 21 – February 12

Assuming they leave 1-2 weeks before the league matches they'll miss would be :

Atalanta - Milan
Milan - Internazionale
Novara - Milan
Milan - Cagliari
Lazio - Milan
Milan - Napoli

Udinese - Milan

Matches in bold are highest probability that we will be without them ...thats if they fall out early(after group) ...Ghana and Nigeria could very easily make the final so we could see up to 5 league matches without them ....still CL to factor in ....Last season we had 2 coppa games + CL round of 16 1st leg in the period...

Potentially up to 8 games without them ...Pray to God Zambro stays fit

I think Zambrotta, Emmanuelson and Antonini can cover for a month or two so it's not the end of the world when Taiwo leaves. And by January , El-Shaarawy would be ruling serie a anyways so Boa wouldn't be a big loss either :D
