...which was basically the team that won the Scudetto...and is a LB and GK shy of a full XI

an army of leaders had left and they chose to sell the two people that could have potentially held the squad together

the act of selling these two was the management giving up and fully embracing mediocrity but they couldn't even do that right

they forced ibra and silva out because they were on high wages and instead of committing to this plan and changing the wage structure at the club completely, they kept overpaying mediocre players, making them nontransferable and bleeding even more money in the long run

couldn't even get a decent fee for them. massive failure no matter how you look at it

Such a shame we shipped him and Ibra in 2012. They would have prevented the banter era

Yes have often fantasized about selling everyone else of significant value on the team at the end of the 2011/2012 season and playing Ibra, TS33 and whoever else remained plus youngsters.

Cristante, Fossati, Strasser, Albertazzi, Verdi et al may not have become world beaters in this scenario, but would probably rise up with the quality and leadership of those two on the pitch, the training ground and the dressing room. We wouldn't have done much worse than we did. May have even done a bit better, although arguably not challenging for trophies would test Ibra and TS33's love for the club.
