Giannino’s restaurant was born in 1899 as a modest family-run bottling store with a small kitchen: the dishes served were traditionally Tuscan.
Over the years, and after two world wars, Giannino became one of the most famous and popular restaurants amongst food and wine experts in Italy, until it achieved two Michelin stars in 1970.
In 1981 Giannino becomes a member, together with Tour d'Argent, Maxim, Paul Boucuse and La Grenouille in New York, of the small circle of Tradition et Qualité, the prestigious French guide which selects excellence amongst the best restaurants in the world .
In 1998 Davide Oldani, today a celebrated pop-chef and successful entrepreneur, came to cook for Giannino and all of a sudden history repeats itself: the Milanese restaurant was awarded yet another Michelin star.
