FORZA Mihajlovic and Bologna. DES starting at lb for Rube so I'd say Bologna are slight favorites to take the 3 points.

Of course Juve are awarded a penalty for shirt pulling. It's actually nice to see those fouls given it just makes you wonder if Var had given Bologna the penalty had it happened at the other end of the pitch.

Compared to last season where they finished 8th and massively underperformed in the league, they squad has been a very united group this season. Simone Inzaghi has been managing them for 4 years now, so you'd probably assume their continuity would prevail sooner than later.

Two of their key players in Luis Alberto and Milinkovic-Savic, who both, for their relative standards, had below average seasons last term are repaying the fans by proving their true worth this season. Luis Alberto's position has been adjusted and he now drops deeper in midfield to be more involved in the build-up play. With this adjustment, their midfield of SMS, Leiva and L.Alberto runs like the finest of Swiss watches. While up top, Immobile is in the form of his life and is well on course to break Higuain's scoring record.

A lot of people (incl. me) have said they've been very lucky with penalties (by far most in Serie A with 13) but the underlying stats show they've been the team appearing most times in the opposition's box. They also whip a dozens of crosses into the box each game, so it's not a coincidence that they earn penalties in abundance like we won them with Balotelli's constant diving bombardment between 2013 and 2014.

Another factor is their myriad of injury-time winners, however at this point I don't want to label them lucky because you just don't score that amount of injury-time winners by chance. They play and have this fighting spirit until every & last second of the game.

In the transfer market, they've had a few under the radar moves, as they did when they brought in Manuel Lazzarri, an excellent wing-back for their system or Denis Vavro to fill the back-up role.

Although the league table from the last and the current season may indicate so, they haven't done *that much* different from last season - they stuck with their coach after a poor season, brought in only one starter & some few back-ups and have had a fair share of luck with penalties and late-winners, that again, I don't really want to consider lucky or touch upon the notion of 'lucky Lazio'.

Thanks for the reply! Awesome post

Entertaining first half between Atalanta and Lazio. Milinkovic-Savic scored a rocket before Gosens pulled one back.

On another note, what an incredible miss by Gagliardini earlier. Especially seeing how much that miss impacted the game.

Title race is far from over though. With the schedule being a match every 3 days, everybody is going to drop points multiple times.

Zeman questions Atalanta: "It's strange that they're able to run so much".

https://romapress.net/2020/06/25/ze...-its-strange-that-theyre-able-to-run-so-much/

Former Roma manager Zdenek Zeman was interviewed today by Radio Rai 1 and seemed suspicious by the amount of stamina that Atalanta have displayed so early on in the Serie A restart as he hinted that the Bergamo-based side could be doping.

The Czech isn't a stranger to this issue: he accused Juve in 1998 of doping and as a result, Bianconeri team doctor Riccardo Agricola was ultimately found guilty of administering EPO, a banned drug that?s used to boost red blood cell counts.

"Atalanta is still running (a lot), which is strange given that they're from Bergamo, where there have been huge problems with the virus," he said.

"I say 'strangely' because with the problems that there were in Bergamo, I didn't think they'd much time to prepare and work".

Classic Zeman.

Did Juventus not even get reprimanded for that doping?

Brescia have accumulated 18 points so far. Teams should be penalized for not obtaining a threshold number of points. 18 points is just unacceptable.

a punishment on top of relegation?

Would rather smack Milan players for dropping points to SPAL

Remember, Napoli won the Coppa so in terms of EL tickets

5 Roma
6 Milan
7 Napoli

is not different than

5 Roma
6 Napoli
7 Milan

So Roma is the team we should be focussing on
