Yeah numb nuts, spending a billion more than the rest of the league is totally fair.
Former Manchester United scout Derek Langley says they had Ajax pair Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt on their radar - before anyone else.
United are in the mix to sign the Ajax pair, but they're not favourites to do so despite allegedly having put in considerable legwork in the past.
Langley told the Manchester Evening News: "Matthijs de Ligt. We had God knows how many reports on Matthijs de Ligt.
"Frenkie de Jong and all these players now are sort of around Europe.
"Dayot Upamecano, who is now at Red Bull Leipzig, was another. I think it was possibly part of my downfall as to why seven months down the line I was removed because I wouldn't tow the line in relation to telling them exactly what I thought.
"It's one of them things in football - you come to accept it.
"Manchester United thanked me for the time I spent there and the players I'd taken in, but ultimately we could have been so much better if people had listened."

Sacked Man Utd boss Mourinho says farewell to Lowry staff
Ince says: "The suggestion of Ole Gunnar Solskjær makes me laugh, that has to be a joke. It's absolute madness.
"If it was me? I'd pick Steve Bruce today. He's not working at the moment, and he had seven or eight years at the club. He's been a very good, and successful manager and he more than many understands what it's like to be a United player.
The only other caretaker candidate I'd choose would be Roy Keane. He'd knock those players into shape in no time, he's managed, and he's familiar with the club."
Jose Mourinho has spoken for the first time since being sacked as Manchester United manager, telling Sky Sports News he still has a "future" in football.
"We could speak about so many good things, [some] not as good, but that's not me," said Mourinho. "It's finished. Manchester United have a future without me and I have a future without United."
The 55-year-old said he "has not changed" since he was sacked by Chelsea in 2015 and would not "speak about anything that happened in the club".
He said: "Why should I be sharing more now, even with the supporters, any of my feelings?
"It's over.
"That's the way I've always been. I've been critical of managers that speak about details about what's happened and who is to blame. That's not me."
Mourinho asked for privacy while he is out of the game.
"Until I get back to football I think I have my right to live my life like I do now," he said. "That's what I want to do.
"Manchester United is past."
