leonardo put him as a CM...that didnt work..then he put him BACK on the right side as RB...on the flanks....just like he had always played his whole career (advanced)

If he practices his crossing and goes back to 10-11 season style he'll do better. I honestly blame Allegiri at this point he seems to give our players no direction on what the fuck to do.

IIRC, the idea of abate playing at RB stated in pre season of the 09-10 season, and it was leonardo's idea.

he barely played as a CM, I think it was once or twice during friendlies and once during the season when Milan had injuries/suspensions.

abate owes his career to leonardo

if im not mistaken, i thought abate originated at the RW or right midfielder playing with Empoli and Torino, before coming to us..in which he played a few times in that position, as mentioned, and then Leo. switching him to RB..

this could be a huge problem for us.. nesta is not there to keep abate posted on defense line corretly.. abate has no sense of covering.. who will do this now? Mexes? i dont think so.

ancelotti was so righ in put abate on loan every single season.

it is completely different attacking from the back than at winger.

he puts plenty of fine balls in, he is not an elite crosser, but he is ok.

I seriously think some of you think it is not a good cross unless it perfectly hits one of our players on the head. if you put the ball into the box it is the strikers job to then go to the ball.

our current strikers (Pato is probably our best) are shit at going to the ball in the air. Ibra is awful considering his size. With a legit CF Abate's crossing would look better

Because one is shit doesnt mean the other is gold.

Abate must improve because last year though good defensively he was still poor attacking wise.

I really hope De Sciglio pushes him to better or just beats him out to be the starter because Milan wont spend on a fullback (either side) and we desperately need better all around play from those positions.

OFC he should but some of the unnecessary hate on here is a joke to be honest, but after 1 bad season which only had a couple of bad games, people want another new rb?

And beyond that he's been very consistent for over a year. He wwas poor the 2nd half of this last season. No one denies that. He came back from injury and just looked bad. It happens, I've seen many players who are better than him have long periods of poor form. He'll bounce back.

The only thing I ask is for him to get over his militophobia
