“I’ll tell my son, who will be born in November, that I won a league title. With a little bit more experience this Milan side could win the Champions League. Zlatan? He’s a perfectionist. When I miss a pass I become one of his preferred targets, but he likes me”.

Does he mean Ibra shouts at him if he misplaces a pass?

Well that's ridiculous.

Abate has been the best Italian RB this season - by far - showing that he can cope with the likes of C. Ronaldo and Eto'o while being part of Serie A's best defense.

Maggio and Cassani aren't bad but nowhere near greatness either. Add to that that both of them don't have great international experience or age on their side I can't understand Prandelli.

Guess we've got to continue suffering a painfully average Italian NT

I'm actually a tad happy he's not called up by the national team. He still has a lot to do to improve and become one of the best, and I'd love to see him work hard and earn that...a national team call-up may get his ego a bit too high + less time to work on his game. It's OK for now if he's not being called up for the NT, he willl be inshallah for the 2014 WC...

Abate is our second best tackler in Serie A. 86 tries / 75 succesful, only behind Gattuso who is unbeatable (what a wall on the right side btw).

This rate of success is very impressive - 87%. If one consider tackles by playing time, he is more or less on par with Van Bommel and Ambro - still very good.

Not at all impressed by Flamini tackles though. Only 27 tries / 22 succesful.

I really enjoyed watching Abate live at San Siro, he's a tireless runner and ppl really like him, he gets much applause when doing something great on defense or going forward. :star:

Agreed, just bursts down that flank and the fans love him and it's just so easy to see why, never gives up, no such thing as a lost cause and christ on a bike he is so so fast isn't he!

i'm confused as to how santon hasn't done anything since he played well agains ronaldo and he gets to play for italy while abate has been great for a whole season yet he still needs to prove himself consistently to prandelli?

prandellli probably wants abate to establish himself as the best rb in the world. maybe a call up now would make abate think he is good enough (which he is).

this is my scenario, i hope it is true. maybe hhe knows abate's growth is exponential and he is waiting for the right time to use him. we all know tho, he'll be there in 2012.

It is just so dumb he hasnt called him up... Maggio isnt a real RB and Santon hasnt done much of anything in 2 years and still he wont give a starter on the best team in the league a chance...
