Better footballer? Perhaps.
Better defender than Chiellini or Barzagli? Definitely not.
Ramos is not just hot-headed, he lacks awareness to be a part of a great defense. This is no longer an imbalanced Real side with a headless EPL-esque double pivot. And yet they still can't defend deep - and it's most certainly not because of Kroos-Casemiro-Modric.

Perhaps?
He captained Real to 3 UCL trophies in the last 4 years, he's a world cup winner, double Euro cup winner, countless other trophies, scores clutch goals...
Perhaps...

Btw, in case anyone forgot.
Gonzalo Higuain
94 million euros
Brought him in specifically with winning the UCL in mind.
Completely invisible in the final

Ramos is rated mostly because of his stellar offensive record.

As a defender, simply look at his discipline.

How many red cards has that guy been given?

overall- sure. I guess.

chiellini has got to be the most overrated italian defender of all time.

slow, clumsy and benefits from a defensive system

oh and he's dirty AF too even though he tries to act like a nice guy on the pitch, the worst part is that he constantly gets away with it in fodder A.

-------------

regarding ramos, completely disagree.

+1000

Chiellini should be getting 5 red cards per season at least in Serie A. Jube players just aren't given red cards in Serie A no matter what. They have the least red cards by quite a margin every season.

His position on the pitch is defender. He is better than Jube boys in that position. The end

The ADD CBs are the last ones to thank for Spain's/Barca NT's 2008-12 success.
Ramos has improved as a footballer and a defender since then, and yet Spain has done the complete opposite, turning into complete shit after Xavi's and Casillas' decline. He only became the captain in the 2016 Euro where they were knocked out by BBC's Italy with players such as Giaccherini, Eder and Pelle. Ramos is the best goal scorer between them, no doubts about that, but Chiellini was the only CB to score in that game.;)

As for Real's success, his late goals have definitely played a huge part in those, but why have so many of them been equalizers? Why do they rarely keep a clean sheet, even against fodder teams?

I'd take the Barzagli/Chiellini type any day over Ramos/Luiz - well except finals. Not every team has CR & co to save you in the final 30 mins.

As I said, fantastic player but lacks in the defending department, Spain and Madrid as well as Barca have been lucky that their midfield is heads and shoulders above the rest and gives the defense extra protection.

Widest margin loss since Porto beat Monaco 3-0 in 2004

Most goals conceded since Milan beat Barcelona 4-0 in 1994

Also have to go back to 1994 for last bigger margin loss and all the way back to 1962 for more goals conceded when Benfica beat Real 5-3

Pirlo and Perrota were most crucial for Italy. Well, plus Matrix. Gattuso was better than Pirlo at doing Gattuso's job and it ends there.

Perotta :lol::lol::lol:

Pirlo was outperformed by Rino throughout that competition

Higuain has been a flop. Juve bought him to do it in the CL. They didnt need him for Seria A.......so for 90- million you would expect him to do something today. I was so close to betting on him scoring thinking no way he can flop again until my friend told me once a choker....always a choker

To be honest I would rather Buffon won it tonight instead of Real breaking our back-to-back record
I hate Jube but I love Milan more and Real breaking our record sucks
They didnt break anything

They equalled it
