Ancelotti inherited the same squad from Terim when season 02/03 rolled in. But he got 2 new players that instantly improved the team : Nesta and Seedorf. They both and Kaka became the backbone that propelled Milan into the rarified air of continental football. Not to mention the tactical switch of changing Pirlo into deep-lying playmaker.

Thats true, but the trident was costa, inzaghi and sheva.
Terim didnt have the ability to manage the squad, albertini wasnt working anymore and he saw in kaladze a proper sub, Ancelotti saw Pirlo, who was Rui Costa sub at that moment.

Well Terim doesnt have ability to manage a big club.
