I don't think there's that choice if a provincial team is a man down. They'll set up a camp in and around their box regardless of how deep our team is positioned.
I think the way Pioli is setting up the team 11vs11, without Ibra, is balanced and as counter-oriented as the opponents allow it to be. Some teams(Sassuolo, Lazio) are more willing to dominate possession than others(Parma, Genoa).
