So according to the latest reports, it seems that Totti being called up has become less likely than it was a few weeks ago.

Roma World Cup hopeful Francesco Totti is set to miss out on Italy's South Africa adventure as Marcello Lippi has already decided he will snub him, according to Il Messaggero. Lippi has made the decision based on technical choices, feeling he doesn't need him. And it is said Totti already knows he will not be going. 'Er Pupone' had talked of his availability to come out of the international wilderness after leaving the Azzurri in 2006. And although Lippi said everyone would know Totti's fate on May 11 when he picks his preliminary Italy squad, his list is likely to have a cross by his name.

Paraguay was very good at the eliminatories. They have a solid defense and hard-work midfield. Italy x Paraguay will be a great display of defensive play.

Its a joke for a group LOL
Italy's luck.

Spain and Argentina's group are bigger jokes tbh.
Slovakia has a pretty decent team and Paraguay is very solid.
New Zealand is a joke, I agree.

No disrespect dude :D Sorry :)
TBH, I don't know a single player... but I don't think they have much chance on advancing. Although they gave Italy a big scare in the Confederations Cup

I only watch serie a & b, and sometimes an important match in Spain or England, so players of Blackburn or WBA I just don't know... I'll keep an eye on them during the WC. I'll even cheer for them :)

Lippi trusts Juventus players

Italy boss Marcello Lippi has revealed that he already knows his squad for the World Cup and isn't worried about the form of players from Juventus.

Lippi has built his previous teams on Juventini, but their catastrophic season has led sections of the Italian media to ask whether some should be going to South Africa.

“I have already thrown off the last selection doubts, you will know everything tomorrow,” Lippi said.

When asked if he is worried about the form of some players from Juventus, he replied: “I would be more worried if the players were coming off fantastic years, if they had all been protagonists and if they had all realised their objectives.

“I am not worried, actually I prefer it this way.

“I feel the responsibility of being Coach of the Italian national team, around which there is always a lot of interest and expectation.

“If I didn't feel the responsibility, I would be sitting at home as a world champion, but I preferred to put myself back in discussion.

“I feel the desire and the enthusiasm that is born inside of me: I can't wait for this fantastic experience to start.”

Italy and Paraguay should go through, but very maybe Slovakia can surprise. New Zealand no chance IMO. I won't be surprised if Paraguay wins the group.

Legrotaglie not included in the 30 players list - WTF, Lippi :conf:
After being a pillar in defense of one of best Juve sides in last decades, he gets ignored just like that. This is getting scandalous - now there are only 8 Juve players on that list  But, OK - add 3 of the best Milan players :-)proud:) and you have a perfect team:

Buffon - Zambrotta, Canna, Chiellini, Grosso - Marchisio, Candreva, Gattuso, Camoranesi - Iaquinta, Borriello

world champions :star::proud:
