AWAY FORM THE SAN SIRO AND OUT OF ITALY
There have been three Milan-Inter derbies abroad in the history between the clubs. Each one has been a friendly and the first was in 1908 in Chiasso.
Speaking on Friday, June 24 at the Rossoneri Workshop, Adriano Galliani said: "It will be a bizarre derby, away from the San Siro and on another continent." The Italian Super Cup will take place on Saturday, August 6th in Beijing and it will be the first time a competitive derby has been played outside Italy. The previous three derbies played abroad were all friendlies and they Chiasso, 1908, New York 1969 and Boston 2009.
The first game Sunday, October 18 in 1908 was in fact the first meeting between the sides as Inter had only been formed eight months previously. The match was the Chiasso Cup played in front of 4,000 spectators of two 25-minutes halves. Milan lined up: Root; Glaser, Hall, White, Steltzer, Meschia, Lana, Madler, Forlano, Laich, A. Colombo. Referee, the Swiss Bollinger.
Milan won 2-1, with Pietro Lana, who was born in Milan on October 10, 1888 and played for the Rossoneri between 1908 and 1914, scoring the opening goal. The Nerazzurri equalised and then midfielder Luigi Forlano who only played won season at the club, scored the winner.

It was 61 years between Chiasso and New York before the Milan derby was played again on June 29th, 1969 in the City of New York tournament.

The Milanese clubs won their respective matches and met in the final on Sunday, June 29 at Yankee Stadium. Milan had lost 3-1 to Inter two weeks earlier in the second City of Milan tournament.
However, it was revenge in the Big Apple as the Rossoneri ran out 6-4 winners. Goals: Mazzola 12', Rognoni 13', Mazzola 26', Rivera 27', Combin 40' and 44', Jair 45', Anquilletti 46', Rognoni 51' and Bedin 84'.

Huawei Technologies, the enigmatic Chinese telecom-hardware maker that has grown into a top rival for the likes of Sweden’s Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson, also aims to expand the consumer side of its business by selling more mobile devices like phones and tablets.
To boost that effort, Huawei on Wednesday announced a new marketing move: The company will be the sole sponsor of a soccer match in Beijing between two top Italian teams next month, to be held in the iconic “Bird’s Nest” stadium that was built for the 2008 Olympics.
The 2011 Italian Supercoppa, which pits A.C. Milan against Inter Milan, will have “a potential viewership of hundreds of millions around the world,” Huawei gushed in a statement.
The move, Huawei’s first international sports sponsorship deal, reflects the company’s effort to build its brand recognition among consumers, instead of just among network operators.
While it remains to be seen whether Huawei can win over consumers with its sponsorship of the August 6 soccer match, it’s safe to say Inter Milan has its work cut out for it in winning over the Beijing crowd. A.C. Milan is widely regarded as the most popular soccer team in China.
Just please no Bonera !!!!
And stupid Vacation to Almeria ruin this game for me...
^^ Mexes
Are the Copa America players available for this one?
Yeah they should be
Mexes is still injured at that moment.
Silva & Yepes might be on vacation.

I believe ALL participating with their teams will naturally get the same rest - no matter how much they played. It's their right to have a "vacation" .Merda sure would have it better. They would only be missing Lucio and Julio Cesar who could be given a rest. Out of their remaining SA contingent; Samuel, Jonathan and Alvarez didnt travel, Maicon and Milito are basically benchwarmers so they will be fit for the game.
As for us, we are more than likely to be deprived of Yepes, Robinho, Pato, Silva and Ganso (if he comes) as they are starters for their respective teams...
But we may have Pastore fully fit if he doesnt play much
can Bommel play CB? maybe him there and Ambro in the mid?
I'm glad our Copa America players will be available for this match, I was afraid they might be on vacation, but it's better they go on holiday after the Super Coppa. It's very important to have them in the squad because we'll have two CBs and two strikers more and that means we're more likely to beat merda.
