Italy slip in rankings Wednesday 10 November, 2004

Marcello Lippi’s Italian national side have fallen to tenth place in the latest FIFA World Rankings.

The Azzurri have been overtaken by Mexico following last month’s shock 1-0 defeat to Slovenia.

The top four of Brazil, France, Argentina and Spain remain unchanged from the previous month.

I think Fifa love Brazil & France I remind since 1994 Brazil & France always first & second :mad:

Italy some time come 10th or 12th

I have one quastion

(Some teams like Spain or Portugal or Mexico what they doing better than Italy for came better from Azzurri on this ranking?)

Fifa rankings are a abosutly load of shit.

btw - Mexico and USA are high becasue they play often against crap teams.

Exactly, Mexico and USA play about 3x as many games as Italy and againstg teams that are 3x lower quality....as they say - good things come in threes

Have a look at how many games Australia plays.

I beleive our games vs Turkey was the firs friendly here for 4 years or something.

It's about points won over the years and it is not about if the country had a recent slump in form etc.

I was actually refering that point to France/England discussion, but it also depends the quality of nations you play, the ammount of times you had qualified/won for major tournaments etc.

Mate, your totally off-topic here.
As I said above its about the points gained in your history and not about a recent slump (refering to Frances current dip in form/results) therefore I was defending that those two nations should be in top 10.

I know the fifa ranking r points accumulated over d years but that of england and france should have dropped drastically bcos of their bad performances lately,USA should atleast be in d top 10 bcos they play d most matches and an african team should be there

I've always thought how ridicule FIFA ranking is.
Mexico, USA should be on 30 to 25 spot(not more not less...USA have faced more harder teams than Mexico, so I think USA should be better than Mexico too)....Australia should enter top 35 or top 30.
Spain shouldn't(I say it again SHOULDN'T) even be near top 10....never won nothing important, normaly they face easy teams(no ofense) in qualifications.
France: They past it, after WC 2002 France doesn't deserve that spot.

u r dead right mate,spain have been playing so bad at various competitions which have earned them the name of under acheivers,is germany on that top 10?spain,germany,france,england shouldn't be there,sincerly guys their form of late has been terrible even over the years !!!
