I don't know but it will be fun to see Ba again. I mean, I remember when the last time he played for us, and he was nothing special, but was very fast, something like serginho on the right, just a lot more offensive. I guess I want to see how much he has aged and how's his speed nowdays.

I remember the first time we got him Galliani said something like "Who needs Ronaldo when you have Ba" LOL. I can't assure Ronaldo's name was used but it was definetly an Inter player as a world class player. Can someone dig up the quote?

i dont understand why we got him??

do we need him? NO

is he good? NO

soooo why get him??

argghhh!! sometimes milan shits me :head:

i am happy we got rid of some rubbish (borrillo and oliveria) but we still have some old hacks that need to be shown the door IMO
I dont understand why you guys are complaining, I mean its not like we signed him for 10 million. And its not like hes gonna play, hes probably just here to re gain his fitness and out of his injury. If he causes no harm to the squad and atmosphere why change, its like Fiori. Why should we sack him? I mean he brings good atmosphere and never complains and its like the 4th goalie. Just let them be, it would be a different thing if they were both on the starting 11 but theyre not, and probably both wont even play 1 FULL game this season combined.

His price tag is irrelevant.

What people are saying is that they'd rather have a roster spot taken by someone who's fit and ready to go, someone who can be at least a capable backup and readily contribute. In other words, we don't need another Grimi on our hands.

Found it...

Before the beginning of the 97-98 season, during the presentation of the last Milan team led by Don Fabio Capello Galliani said:

"We may have not been able to get Figo, but we have been able to get a younger player and then, therefore, stronger in the long run: Ba!"

That's a signature material!

Galliani should go to jail, for never saying something true. I've always thought that he's a drug addict, just look at his eyes.

Well he is officially our players now...and we may have to respect him...heres a bit of his profile:

Ibrahim Ba (born January 12, 1973 in Dato) is a French professional football player of Senegalese descent. He currently plays for A.C. Milan.

He usually plays as a right midfielder. Ba was born in Senegal but his family moved to France when he was a child. He always kept his dual nationality, though he elected to play for the France national football team.

Biography

[edit] Early career
He started his career with Le Havre AC in 1991, and was transferred to Girondins de Bordeaux in 1996. He reached the final of Coupe de la Ligue with Bordeaux, and made his French national team debut in February 1997.

This short section requires expansion.

[edit] A.C. Milan
He was sold to Italian club AC Milan after just one season at Bordeaux, making a dream come true for him. His first season in Milan was to become his best; he played 31 matches and scored one goal. His most memorable moment for the French national team came in the June 1997 friendly match with Brazil in Paris. He took a free kick 35 meters from goal, and his swerving shot forced Brazilian goalkeeper Claudio Taffarel to drop the ball in front of French striker Marc Keller, who went on to score.

Ba was seen as a great talent, but never quite lived up to his promise. To his great dismay, he was left out of France's 1998 FIFA World Cup squad, when France became World Champions on home soil. That might be seen as the beginning of his downfall. Over the subsequent years, Ba did not play much for Milan and went on loan to Italian team AC Perugia in 1999-2000 season, where he broke a leg and had to miss four matches since he had hit an opponent with his head. He underwent another loan deal back in France with Olympique de Marseille in 2001.

[edit] Late years
In 2003, he finally left Milan and joined Bolton Wanderers in England.

He failed to make an impression at Bolton, and moved on to Turkey after just one season, joining Çaykur Rizespor for one year deal on 24 August 2004.

In 6 February 2005, he was surprisingly signed by Djurgårdens IF for two years contract and Ba moved to Sweden. He was a spectacular signing for Djurgården, and caused much interest in Sweden. It was thought that a less prestigious league might bring back Ba's old ability. Djurgården won the league in his first season, but Ba failed to impress fans and commentators and spent a lot of time on the bench. In early 2006, it was decided that his contract would be terminated and he subsequently left Djurgården in January 2006.

He then returned to Italy for Varese at second half of 2005-2006 season.[1]

In June 2007, he returned to Milan, to spend time with his son Fabian Ba who plays in the youth section[1]. Reports say that Ba signed a 1-year contract, yet there is no official announcement by A.C. Milan side, but he did register with the Italian Football Federation.

[edit] Honours
1999 Italian League with AC Milan
2003 Italian Cup with AC Milan
2003 UEFA Champions League with AC Milan
2005 Swedish League with Djurgårdens IF
2005 Swedish Cup with Djurgårdens IF

Well maybe he's just here to be with his son, and Berlu decided to "sign" him, meaning giving him something to do while he's here. You know, like courtesy. It really doesn't cost us shit to give Ba the chance to stay in form while training with the team.

We don't pay that kind of money for people to babysit, if that's the case. No point clogging up a roster spot with someone who isn't going to even play.

Ba, the worst 11 million(i think) we ever spent...he was garbage lol, really. I don't even think MilanLab could do something. Resurrecting Walt Disney is more likely..

edit: i just saw Besfort's post, it's 12 million

The biggest bust is neither Ba nor Oli,
Need I remind you of Jose Mari?

Dude... u're right, Also Javi Moreno. Once i thought Chelsea are the most stupid team that spends money for nothing.. but considering Milan what did do years ago.. Duhh

Some Shitty Transfers.

Ba - 12 Milion
Jose Mari - 19 Milion
Redondo - 17.5 Milion
Donati - 15 Milion
Javi Moreno - 16 Milion

Also we put Ricardo Oliveira 15 Milion.

But Smart are we too like:

Savicevic 7.5 Milion
Weah - 6.9 Milion
Gattuso - 9 Milion
Shevchenko 23 Milion ( Sold him to Chelsea for 46  )
Kaka - 8.25 Milion ( The best cheap " World-Class " transfer ever been )
also Ronaldo " only " 7.5 Milion, considering six months earlier we wanted to pay 25-30 Milion.

Certainly wasnt a bad transfer at the time of the move. its bad luck that he god injured, but he was proven and world class in every sense of the word.
and inspite of hardly playing while with us, is a definite fan favoruite for the way he behaved whiel injured, by asking not to be paid etc.

Redondo was a very unfortunate case and the fact that on his 2nd year onward he refused to get paid until he is healthy showed that at least he still have some class, which is a major rarity in today's commercialism.

Edit : glad we share the same comment, radioactive :)

Anybody know how much we paid for Gianni Commandini? Shitty deal.

Honestly I could never never understand what it is that keeps Milan from being associated with him all these years and especially this forum's fascination towards him :D

It's one of the great mistery in the history of AC Milan.
