I thought he played great today and shouldn’t have been subbed off.

Keeps the ball real well and can shield it quite well also. Very neat player, I liked what I saw. I think he should start in the supercoppa game against Juve but I won’t be annoyed if he doesn’t.

Suso can’t play so I wouldn’t be surprised if he does start

Please Rino don’t ruin him... keep him as a starter and give him the confidence needed

Good match considering it’s his very first match in Europe. What impressed me the most was that he wasn’t rattled by physical defenders trying to crowd him out, he could shield the ball well and play with his back to the goal. He was a bit hesitant in the beginning to run into space, but in the second half he started doing that as well.

Those two knocks imply that he needs to build some strength quickly though. He will get knocked up A LOT.

Glad to have him.

We will start him through necessity. Given that he just finished his full season in Brazil ideally you'd play him sparingly.

He seems to be very tactically astute which is weird for a brazillian.

Looks like the total paquet. Good debut.

indeed. and as Gattuso mentioned that, i had my eyed peeled for that. and i'm impressed by it.
that pass to Higuain running down the left side (offside) makes me think he can add those passes to his game on a regular... and make him a real midfielder.

will probably also be told to cut some of the tricks in front of the defense, like the time he got fouled.

all in all, it's just the first game...he'll, normally, have his ups and downs...

I actually think the second "knock" where he just got stepped on was him being a bit tired.

I think he just needs to become comfortable and build the communication and trust with teammates. He showed his trademark style and his passes were on point more than not with the player in receipt being able to do something with it.

If that cross was a bit lower I wouldve loved to see if he couldve nailed that header for a debut goal..... but then we wouldnt have seen Conti and Cutrone sparkle.

Was very impressed with his composure on the ball. He always seemed to have an “out” and was never pressured into making bad decisions. Also showed confidence to try to keep the ball even when double or triple teamed.

Hopefully he will continue progressing and settle into the cm spot

Baller, this guy can become an elite CM

Other than what others have mentioned, I was surprised with how fast he is, and gotta love how aggressive he is when it comes to winning the ball

His in air presence needs to utilized by Rino, and could be v dangerous with our crossing game and getting into box ala Jack

Impressed by him.

I think it's pretty clear he has to start in the midfield.

He will be a beast, can tell from his movements. I also agree he is probably made for the hole. Quick rleases and can hold thr ball exceptionally well.
Kaka comparisons are off, if anything he is more like seedorf from that generation

The only of our mids I could imagine pulling the #10 in a 3-5-2/3-4-1-2 off. At least from the first impression.

Crazy to think about how well and confident he played in his first European match. Cold blooded

Very impressive debut. Kept it simple, played pass and move football, made quick decisions, held it intelligently when necessary to draw pressure to open up passes and showed good appreciation for finding space. Put in a shift defensively as well.

Keep it up

The combination of Baka and Kessie is helpfull for the LCM but not necessarily for the attackers. That is at least part of why Hakan is better at LCM recently in my opinion.
