Belotti seems to be scared of losing his spot for the WC; I think that's the reason he's reluctant to leave.

The other thing is, he might be renegotiating his contract so that he can get a higher salary, and remove or reduce his release clause. His agent was an idiot to include some sort of 100m evaluation for foreign clubs thinking that it would not impact the domestic clubs (which seems like Belotti's preference, because why would you negotiate for that?)

In short: Belotti and more importantly, his agent, are idiots.
