nothing is gonna change

going to continue dropping points to poor sides and drawing against upper sides

don't know how you can see the performance vs Roma and be satisfied enough to roll out the exact same side

embarrassing

80 minutes against genoa, game winning assist

0 minutes since then, it's been 3 weeks
#cautiously

yes im very upset hakan and zuzo keep on getting undeserved minutes and then he claims "i give nothing for free"

We will need to have a formation change or replace Calabria to let Conti start.

I heard he had a very small relapse on his injury and he's not at 100% (can't play 90 minutes/start, obv)

Gennaro Gattuso realises there is “even more pressure” on Milan to beat Cagliari, stands up for his tactics and Hakan Calhanoglu.

It kicks off on Sunday at 19.30 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“There is a great deal at stake against Cagliari and there is even more pressure with Lazio and Roma winning,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

It’s a battle royal for fourth place, as those victories mean the two Romans have temporarily leapfrogged the Rossoneri.

“For the last six or seven years, Milan have reached the spring and not even been in the running for a Champions League spot. We must take it one game at a time, but be in a strong position to go for it.

“Our next few fixtures might seem easy on paper, but there is nothing easy in Serie A and this'll tell us if we've matured. We must face every game with concentration and desire, that’s the secret. I want to see a Milan side that doesn’t allow the opposition to attack. I’d happily win every match 1-0.

“We don’t score that many goals because we don’t fill the penalty area very well and there can be some laziness in that. On the other hand, Suso says he has to sacrifice himself playing almost as a full-back and that is true. We need to work together to keep a clean sheet, but get that same determination going forward too.”

The arrival of Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa has certainly made a difference, albeit at the expense of Patrick Cutrone.

“Patrick works hard every day, he has that fire within him, but has also grown mentally and professionally. He doesn’t just think about himself, but the whole group, even if naturally he’s disappointed when he doesn’t play.

“We’ll continue our current tactical approach. I know there are people who only want us to attack, but we must play as a team, with sacrifice for each other. You in the media give credit to the defence, but if the team is so tight, it is thanks to everyone.

“I won’t say we’ll always play like this, but it takes trial and error in training. For example, in future I could see Diego Laxalt and Andrea Conti wide in a five-man midfield, with Lucas Paquetá or Calhanoglu behind the strikers.”

Gianluigi Donnarumma performed heroics against Roma, rediscovering his confidence.

“I think having Pepe Reina near him really helped, as a strong, exemplary professional like the Spaniard is giving him advice every day.”

Gattuso has faced criticism from some quarters, including Minister for the Interior Matteo Salvini, for keeping the faith with misfiring Calhanoglu.

“I don’t throw my players out to sea,” was the response. “Hakan knows he can do much more, but his performances haven’t been total disasters. I read someone claim the squad rebelled because he always plays, but I’ve seen nothing of the sort.

“I give nothing for free and I don’t throw anyone out either. It’s the same with Andrea Conti, he is recovering, but doesn’t play because that’s the way I see it. I have players who I find reliable.

“Lucas Biglia has been out for three months, so his recovery will take more time and he can play when he’s at 100 per cent. The last tests showed Cristian Zapata needs at least another 15 days before he can resume training with the group.”
What error and trial in training he is talking about
He field the same 4-3-3 with the same shit wingers

Why on earth would Gattuso field his ultra defensive/slow starting XI at home against Cagliari when we desperately need 3 points? Especially after this same lineup shit the bed against a garbage Roma squad.

Win or forget CL. It's basically what it is about tonight. A loss would mean 8th place. Yes, I think Sampdoria and Atalanta will win their games today. Next game is against Atalanta also. Every game is crucial now for remaining season.

I don't agree with Gattuso. Games like this one vs Cagliari, vs small teams, is all about attacking. We must win these games. You can't go and talk about defending in the press conferense.

The most important thing today is that Calhanoglu and Suso deliver good performances.

It must effect the team somehow if especially Hakan plays atrociously again and Rino stubbornly keeps defending him.

3 points, i don't care how we do it, i just don't want us to bottle it.

Bomber scoring again, would be the cherry on top.

I dont want to see Hakan play :(

Castillejo or Laxalt for the LW. Castillejo to create the play (yes i know hes not so good but better than Hakan) or Laxalt with balls into the box to Piatek. Cant be worse than Hakan.

Samu is bad too. I'd go for Laxalt at LW

I didn’t want to see Suso or Hakan.

Samu and Laxalt earned a chance after that Napoli performance. Suso and Hakan haven’t been good consistently in months. Bench them both and light a fire.

Samu has earned shit. Suso is not in good shape, but even on a bad day he's better than what Samu usually shows.

I think Suso is gonna start assisting again now, having Piatek instead of Pigsy. Wouldn't help to have someone else at the far post either.

Gattuso said a lot of things in press conference I don't agree with and explains a little bit why we look offensively so poor like we do. Susos statement about being forced to play like a fullback is further confirmation.

Sometimes I think that Gattuso is so afraid of the possibility that we could loose a game that he forgets that we actually want to win it. And that's a mentality that transendets to the players. All are very combative, but at the same time scared of winning at times. When we lead, we look like "holy shit we could win this one and if we don't, that would be even more horrible now that we lead". And then instead of closing the match with the selfesteem a lead should give we give away points. Happens all the times to us.

Every game we're like sometimes maybe good sometimes maybe shit. Hope tonight it's good.

We play safe, too safe. Sometimes its needed a bit of balls and fuck it. Like vs roma.

Tonight 3-0 please! Piatekx2, paqueta!
