I don't know if someone has already posted this but this is an interview with one of my favourite Milan players: CAFU
Cafu is always smiling, a big bright smile, a smile he brandished as captain as he held the 2002 World Cup at arm's length. Today, the double world champion (he was also titled in 1994), has ended his career.
- You left Milan in 2008 and stopped playing. Have you finished your career? What are you doing now?
- I have ended my career as a player. I am currently taking care of my foundation which is an important thing for me and always wanted to do, then that's what I do today.
- What are your plans for the future? Coaching, management, club president, working with the team?
- First, I have the goal of graduating next year. Then I'll decide what will be the best option, or as an administrator or as a club coach in Brazil.
- You had 5 years in Milan becoming a member of the Milan family. Would you be interested in working with Leonardo with whom you played many years?
- Of course if Leonardo called, without any doubt I would consider his proposal with the greatest care possible. Now it is up to me asking to work for him but I don't think it could ever happen. I do not like to force anyone and I prefer that it happens naturally.
- You have won two World Cups but lost twice against France. How do you explain these losses knowing that Brazil was favourite?
- No, no explanation. It would be pointless now to give an excuse why Brazil lost to France. France was simply better in these two games. I think that was the big difference.
- Where does your eternal smile come from?
- My smile is something that I have, the happiness of playing football, life. And one thing I always had. I know the difficulty of living, the difficulty of playing football and so I always try to act naturally. I have a wonderful family and I think it makes me feel better.
His votes for the 2009 Samba Gold:
1. Alexandre Pato: "Pato for me today is a complete player. As good with the left foot as with right foot, has a great speed. I think today the best Brazilian players are all playing in European football without a doubt. "
2. Luis Fabiano: "He is the ultimate centre forward. Already demonstrated in Seville the potential it has today and the Brazilian national team depends a lot of his goals, he is the top scorer of the Brazilian season 2009"
3. Julio Cesar: "He had a very important season, brilliant. He was a big highlight of Inter Milan but the squad was the wall of the goal of the team "
