People need to realize that we have no money to buy players like Modric or to persuade them to come to us now that we won't play in Europe next season. I'd rather have Essien than some fodder from Genoa.

The guy has been destroyed by injuries though, and we all know we've had enough injury prone players over the last few years.
Michael Essien was a fantastic player, but not anymore.

Exactly, we have a good squad overall barring our defense. Lets just see what happens and never despair, big clubs never go into oblivion. Berlu will never let it happen, we will bounce back next year. Probably will compete for top 3 but it would be a start atleast. Vamos milan.

Same here, I actually saw the Derby County vs Chelsea game at Pride Park and he started, he wasn't too bad, you can tell he lacked motivation at Chelsea, he still is a quality midfielder, he will suit us perfectly

we are paying him too much, but if the transfer is free, I guess that balances it out.
