I really like ppl who will field Ambro-MVB-Seedorf vs the best passing team in the world :D

Problem is we wont have Taiwo up for this game, couldnt pick a worse time to get injured:fp:

Anto will get slaughtered vs the midget army. That midfield with Aqua man in front of them will work just fine if our players are on top of there game.I just fear we will get killed on the left side.

Hopefully Seedorf decides its time to big dick again in the CL,and owns the midget army.

Realistically its a very tough game for us esp early in the season, because we havent tested players since the last campaign. Aqualini Kevin Mvb and an good seedorf is something to cheer about. players should play with utmost discipline esp Prince and Seedorf and everything will be good.

This surely will make us tough for the season, good pre season friendly I must say :p

Forget about Antonini. Hopefully Zambrotta will be able to lock down the left flank as much as possible and don't even think about going forward cuz they are simply faster than him.

We should do one thing. Press the hell out of them.
See Valencis do it every time snd it makes it so hard on them. Sitting back won't work.

Boateng as hard working trequartista will work in this one imo.

Thank God 75% of the people on this thread wouldnt be coaching Milan for the game, How can you think of fielding Seedorf - MVB - Ambrosini (cummulative age of those 3 = 105) :fp: against the best midfield of all time, They are fast and have Quick feet, What we need is strenght and fast and agile players as well...

Secondly alot of you think taiwo is some sort of messiah .... Thats very funny cos im Nigerian and ive known taiwo for about 8 years now and ive seen him play more times than any one of you has, He sucks defensively... He might have one or two good games in the serie A once in a while but not against Barca.... He would be up against, Messi, Sanchez or Pedro and Alves, They would rip him apart quite easily, Y'all saw what robben did to him didnt you? Taiwo is not really an upgrade from antonini i must tell you... This is just a warning so you guys dont expect anything from him, Except long range freekicks and shots...

The Best Way to Play Against them is to play 4-4-2, A mix of youth and experience which is really what Milan is About

Abiatti

Abate - T.silly - Nesta -Zambrotta

MVB

KPB Aquillani

Seedorf (if we dont get KAKA or any other AM)

Pato IBRA

Seedorf is Mr Champions League and all but we are playing against barca you know, He cant keep up for 90mins so its better if he starts on the bench thats if we get kaka or any other AM, if not he should start and cassano should come in for him later in the game

Allegri needs to understand that Playing Robinho ahead of pato in games are suicidal because robinho needs 10 chances to get a goal while pato needs just half a chance ...

Cassano should not start, he doesnt support the defence and in a match of this quality we need 11 potential defenders on the pitch

Realistically, The best result we can get is a draw but as a milan fanatic i would like to visit the fantasy world and believe we can get a win.... We dont even need to win, A draw in both games is healthy for both teams

Milan and Barcelona set up Group H rematch
Published: Thursday 25 August 2011, 22.00CET
Massimiliano Allegri promised AC Milan will be at their best for their games against FC Barcelona, with FC BATE Borisov and FC Viktoria Plzeň overjoyed to have drawn such huge sides.

FC Barcelona and AC Milan are preparing for their 12th and 13th meetings in UEFA club competition after being drawn together in UEFA Champions League Group H, Rossoneri coach Massimiliano Allegri noting: "I'm sure we will be at our very best when we face them." FC BATE Borisov and FC Viktoria Plzeň, meanwhile, are honoured to be taking on two of the biggest names in European football this autumn.

Andoni Zubizarreta, Barcelona sporting director
You always have to come up against one big team and Milan are like an old friends we have been through a lot with. It means [Zlatan] Ibrahimović coming back to our stadium along with a lot of other great players.

"All of our rivals in the group deserve our full attention; none of them will be giving anything away. They are here on merit and I am sure we will learn a lot "from the players we will face.

Massimiliano Allegri, AC Milan coach
We got the strongest team of all but there are two other teams that we should be able to beat in our group. Honestly, qualification is within our reach in this group. The games against Barcelona are always fascinating ones; we do all we can to be ready for them. A match like that can give the team great motivation. I'm sure we will be at our very best when we face them.

So you think Seedorf and Ambrosini are physically fit enough to handle the Barca Midfield?:lol:

But you think MVB and Nesta are fine? Ambro is the youngest out of those 4, followed by MVB, Nesta and then Seedorf...

However, we've seen that Seedorf is in much better shape than Nesta in this pre-season so it'd make sense to actually include him.

Also, people saying "Oh, Well Seedorf is Mr. Champions League, but we can't start him" Do you realise how fucked up that sounds? It's like saying "Oh Buzz Aldrin is the best astronaut, but we can't send him to the moon. He's too old(When he's not)"

In this game the only way we can win is to defend well and use guile and intelligence. If we use Aquilani instead of Seedorf this'll majorly ruin those points.

I say that we play: Abbi; Abate, Nesta, Silva, Zambro; Prince, MVB, Aquilani; Seedorf; Robinho, Ibra.

I know Robinho is quite profligate and wasteful but he tracks back more than any of our other strikers. If we're aiming to just put someone behind Alves then by all means it can be Pato. But for defensive stability we need Robinho.

I've put Seedorf at AM because he'll still track back but he's furthest away from the defence. Prince could also play at AM meaning Aquilani at RCM...

People saying we should use a sweeper are wrong, as Barca love to play offside. If we play Nesta or whoever at Sweeper then we'll have to contend with 10x the amount of crosses we usually would.

And yes, a lot of people are claiming we're close to favourites and very dangerous. I didn't expect it and it's surprising, but it shows how we've seemingly reclaimed our place as one of the best European teams.

So El mundo deportivo think we are in big crisis

Another Milan

The Milan , which is not the time of the Dutch with Arrigo Sacchi on the bench, trying to assert its history, seven European Cups, but it is in sports and economic crisis. Only has signed Mexes , Aquilani , Taiwo and the best player of the series B, The Sharawi . He dreams of Kaka and little else. Not scary, really. The Barça, who attended the draw, led by the president Sandro Rosell and players Xavi Hernandez , Lionel Messi (voted best player in Europe by UEFA ) and Carles Puyol , the draw appreciated and emphasized that "the Italians and the Milan especially are always war. "

Marca give us respect

Barcelona will face the group stage of the Champions League with the tranquility of being clearly superior. Only one star Milan plan could jeopardize the leadership of the squad.

Ibrahimovic, the assault at the Camp Nou in Barcelona say that is Milan Ibrahimovic. The Swede did not leave a good memory at Barça for his attitude and his harsh criticisms Guardiola with whom he had a stormy relationship. The Swede, of course, is the star of a series featuring rossonero fantasy Brazilian Pato and Robinho, the security of a Thiago Silva was intended at the time by Barça and the veteran of two football real monsters : Nesta and Seedorf.

Think it's good that we have Barcelona at Camp Nou first. Barcelona have been slow starters in the last couple of years, not hitting top form until later, sure they'll usually pick up the result, but they don't tend to be as dominant as they usually are at the beginning of the season.

Idially the return leg would be fight for the 1st spot, just as long as we don't end up in a situation where we have to beat Barcelona to ensure progression. At least it's not in the last round, and I'm pretty happy with that. Would've hated if everything was settled before the last round so we wouldn't get to play Barcelona with nothing on the line, in the second to last round, this will likely not be the case.

Some initial thoughts for this game.

1. No Taiwo, so our left side is fucked anyway. Might as well go for the better defender, hence Zambrotta ahead of Antonini

2. Obviously we need to start ball-winners. Sadly no Gattuso. A start for Flamini?

3. Every little chance we get is precious, because we'll only get a few chances. Hence, no Robinho. Also, Cassano's form. Also, I don't recall this Barca ever facing someone like him in the final 3rd. I could be rather wrong.

--------Cassano-----Zlatan------

------------Boateng--------------

---Aquilani----MvB-----Ambro/Flamini---

-Zambro----Silva---Nesta----Abate--

-------------Abbiati------------

Can this be put in the title or something?

Al will pick the team he sees fit to take on Barca, he brought us Lo Scudetto and we have to trust him to be shrewd and wise enough to have considered all the angles and tactics to beat Barca. Its daunting yes (extremely) but the fact it is daunting is also an important element (what do most people do when they are told they'll never be able to do something, they make a point of proving that they can!) , lets hope Milan rise from the shadows and announce the start of our re-emergence in the Champions League it is long overdue.

That was over confidence people assumed we would brush spurs aside, this is more like optimistic hope, or prayer (if your religious) if we can't show even a little faith in the team we support so adamantly and discuss so often what is the point ?.

assume nothing, expect nothing just believe the will, motivation, determination and most importantly performance are all there and used effectively on the match days resulting(hopefully) in us cheering and smiling. something like this :jump:, :D,
