If you start selling players in this "fire-sale" scenario that you guys keep saying will happen, those players lose their value, and that "200m of player sales" turns into like 75-100m of player sales.
Like, the price of a player from a relegation team plummets, what do you think would happen in this VULTURE FUND scenario? It'd be worse.
I will say this, looking at the pattern of Arab owners. They tend to prefer buying smaller teams (Man City, PSG) and injecting money into them, then buying some prestige brand. I think that's why Arab owners haven't really come after us, because we're too big a brand. It doesn't make sense, but that's how they are doing it.
For example, in Egypt, there are two big clubs, and some Saudi rich guy just bought some random team that was promoted from the 2nd division and is bringing in Brazilian players and buying some big players for Egypt. But he bought this small club for nothing. It's not like he bought the Egyptian equivalent to Roma or Lazio, but imagine him buying like Crotone and then bringing in big Italian players and some Brazilians.
I found it weird that there are no links to Arab owners, but, perhaps they don't like the idea of having to pay a premium for a club?
