Right now I don't care either way if he gets sacked or stays, but if he loses against Inda next game I'm officially #MontellaOut

I think we needed a change before Roma's first. When he brought Cutrone, I knew he was hoping for a miracle.

Club confirms he'll stay. Good decision.

If you can't see the improvement in tonight's game, you just don't get it. The goals will come. Montella should be given ample time, otherwise we are just another Zampa club.

it's normal that with time the team will play better because players will adapt to one another.

montella was lethargic today; our entire game plan was pass it to the wingers and throw it towards the box. even when we had to ball in roma's half the team lacked creativity. fucking around with the ball without actually doing anything dangerous will lead to a bad touch/pass and to conceding a counter attack goal 8/10 times.

predictable and ineffective attack. bonaventura and suso on the bench. hakan on a yellow.

i wouldn't fire him yet, but i'd give him a talking to

"I'm reasonably pleased with the performance, we faced a team that came 2nd last year and 23 points above us, playing at par. This was our best match in terms of balance and aggression. I'm satisfied as far as what I saw on the field but I will not sleep because we lost. I'm sorry for the fans who applauded us out of the field.

The performance of the team showed that there was a different air in this game, I saw a new spirit and teamwork from Milan. I feel confident every day, the management is balanced in evaluating and judging my value, and it's clear they have the right to deny the rumours on my account (regarding the job). The criticisms, moreover, are part of my job. The league position and points are not scary, I know the risks of my job, but when I see a united and cohesive team I do not care. "

In a 3-5-2, it is normal that wingbacks get involved extensively. I liked how all 7 of our attackers worked well as a unit today. And that's why we were able to control the game for 72 minutes. We did look for central movements several times with wingbacks taking defenders away, but the shots never quite worked out.

I don't think there was anything wrong with the build-up today at all. What was wrong was 1) no end product - this will take time. Silva showed his quality today and will only improve. 2) too much space between midfield and defense centrally - this we need to work on tactically. Biglia and Kessie needs to have a better understanding in their vertical movement.

As far as substitutions are concerned, there was no reason to change anything as long as the build-up was great and only the goal was lacking. I thought Cutrone could've added some much-needed energy by the 70th minute and just possibly Bonaventura instead of Hakan around then too. But Bona has been atrocious in the last few matches and it would have been a 50-50 move with Hakan constantly getting into good positions for shooting.

I'd never have brought on Suso after his complete lack of understanding of the system whenever he has played.

what i don't like is this possession football we're trying to play. since the players don't know each other very well we have a hard time keeping possession, and the opposition knows that and they press the shit out of us. should have shown some humility and started the season with a little more counter attacking based tactics.

He is lucky we have the international break to try and sort things out. Big pressure on him now for the Derby.

The international break couldn't have come at a better time

We haven't played that bad today, couldn't finish off chances and there were a lot of individual mistakes in key moments of the game, we conceded 2 out of nowhere again

Personally I am not convinced Carletto, is the answer for this team at the moment. Don't think he's a coach that can re build. Team with such a young core (someone like Tuchel would be better if we were to change). Would rather give Montella more time as we will improve, but we've got to change some things. We need find a formation that allows us to play Andre-Kalinic (both hard working) along with Suso. Maybe a 4411/4231 with Jack & Suso on the wings, Andre behind Kalinic & a double pivot with Kessie-Biglia. Hakan can play on both wings, but seeing how he has performed recently..

I also don't think that a 3 at the back is necessary because if Bonucci

bring in ancelotti or mazzarri( 3 man specialist) international break is the perfect time for a new coach to settle in during the season.

we're not going to finish top 4 with this guy

Mazzari.....another great suggestion :fp:

What has Mazzari achieved besides being a more mediocre version of the complaining Mancini?

Ancelotti on the other hand could well be an option.....but i don't think the situation is a dire as needing to change coach yet

Yea I think 2 striker setups with Borini/Suso and Jack/Hakan as wide midfielders are an option we should try. Similar to how Miha setup his side

way more than this fraud has achieved, that's for sure.

at least mazzarri will know how to close down spaces and tighten the team, we'll be playing direct counter attacking football which is what we should be doing.

this genius is trying to play possession champagne football and the defense has more spaces between them than highways.

Bring in Simone Inzaghi. Dunno what he's doing to Lazio, but it's pretty good.

At the end of the day his meaningless rotation policy costed us a lot of points.

"We must try not to look at the table." OK, how to not do so when you're competing in a league?

Now we start treating him the way we treated Allegri in the past. If this person is still here then all discussions/opinions regarding him and his actions will be worthless. Once he is gone we will resume talking about coaching and tactical choices at Milan. This person is non-existent and we decide that. If this team manage to pick up a few points here and there it's because of luck and the players' efforts. And his efforts (if there's ever any) will not count. If the team lose he will be responsible, every-single-time. This is just fair because he's not new to the job. No fuck should be given because the players are new to him (wtf?). Milan need a problem solver and this person is not one.

No more Montella until we have a new coach.

Prepared us well today. We got unlucky in the end but there is only so much you can do against errors like these in a new team, overall a good and much improved performance.

I get the feeling that this team is MASSIVELY underperforming.

Players like Bonucci (yeah I've criticized him but he was never quite this shit),
Biglia, Suso, Bonaventura....and to a lesser extent Roma and Silva aren't showing what we know we can get from them.

Only Kessie has generally been stellar....but his game is less dependent on a system and more on his physical displays.

It's not a coincidence. And the blame has to fall on Montella.
Granted, a lot of these players don't bring out the strength of each other.....but if Carlo could run a midfield of 3 CAM's....Montella could surely make these pieces work congruently.

I'm pretty sure we weren't bad like this if montella tried 3-5-2 since preseason.
The whole 4-3-3 shit ruin our players.
Rotate players isn't a good choice either. Should only rotate against those peasant clubs in EL.

A derby win would do so much for the team right now. Win the game or GTFO.
