Oops, wanted to say 'birthday' ;)

Did Maldini wrong you in the past life? If no, then get off his back...

I'm entitled to my opinion, dude, + my opinion found its expression in my most heart-felt BD wish for him. You know what I think of our old geezer squad, I couldn't care less about your sensitivities, so YOU get off MY back ! :o

I just hope he carries on for another whole season and hope he makes the best of it. And than become some sort of trainer maybe of the youth team. He will have a great influence on the younger guys altough I want some training of him but yeah who wouldn't?

I personally find Maldini bland and uninteresting because he always says and does the right thing... A bit too white bread to be fascinating...

But this is not to be taken as a negative characteristic because on the field, he has been magical for the longest time and ultimately that's what matters in a football player. As an interviewee Maldini might suck but that's not important 'cos on the field he rocks! :D

Hope he doesn't slink out without a trophy
If gattuso is to be the next captain
I will wish with all my might that maldini doesn't retire
At least not until gattuso is gone

Agreed! I respect Rino as a player but I'd rather not have him as captain of Milan.

Yes I agree but I have feeling if it goes it would be for Sheva or Nesta those to are real worthy of wearing the arm band and they can really do well. And I cant say that Gattsuo is not worthy of it he does have temper but the last 2 seasons I don’t remember him getting red card he was over excited and abit pissed, other thing when u are not 100% match fit u always end up doing stupid tackles that coz u too lazy to go the extra mile u rarely get that.
Plus today’s game he played well but still he his tackle was too harsh at times he will get better and I only wish his passing and his vision becomes better

At first, I thought if Rino wore the armband, he would behave, control himself and set a good model. But after the 1st friendly with Chelsea, it seemed wrong. He is still the old him.

What can we say? There is only 1 Maldini.

Yes, anyone else will be a step down in class. Perhaps, Sheva would make a better captain or Ambro if he becomes a regular. I'd love to see Sandro with the armband but it wouldn't be fair to players who have been with us longer.

Player of the decade

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature?id=337789&cc=4716As part of Soccernet's continuing celebrations marking a decade online we asked you to vote for the greatest player of our lifetime. We short-listed ten fantastic players from the last ten years for your consideration.

Close to 100,000 of you voted with almost a third of you plumping for three-time FIFA World Player of the Year Zinedine Zidane. Strutting majestically into second-place is another Frenchman, Eric Cantona, while in third place is Ronaldo, one of the most explosive and exciting players of a generation.

Well, I agree that Zidane is one of the best players in the World in 10 years. And I'm happy to see our captain and Sheva on the list! :D

Maldini is without a doubt the best player of the last 2 decades.

I suppose the player of the decade has to be a goal scorer or magician like Zidane. But Maldini is a very close second, just for his consistency, professionalism, and fair play.
