Looks like this Beijing2008 is going to end soon. I am going to miss it very very much.

In the meantime, USA is leading Spain in Basketball final.

ht USA 69-61 Spain

Without Ginobli, Argentina still wins the bronze defeating Lithuania 87-75.

USA Men's volleyball team win the gold medal defeating Brazil 3 sets to 1. This is after USA coach Bob McCutcheon's father-in-law was fatally stabbed in Beijing, right before the competition started.
Great job guys, I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for you. :proud:

End of 3rd quarter - USA 91-82 Spain

There's been a David Beckham sighting at this game.

It's over, USA wins the gold beating Spain 118-107.

Well, the Olympics are officially over. The flame has been extinguished. :D

Congrats Canada with 18 medals, and finishing 14th overall.
Congrats Italy with 28 medals, and finishing 9th overall.

Closing ceremony was one of the coolest things I have seen, I add some points just cause Jackie Chan was there (my whole family was like "look, it's Jackie Chan!!!", "Oh Jackie Chan"...I didn't expect such reactions, just so random from my family).

I've never been the overly patriotic type when it comes to the Olympics, but I always will cheer for the U.S. women in just about any event. They won their fourth straight gold in basketball, and killed in beach volleyball. Softball...sob! They had outscored opponents 111-3 in their win streak from back in 2000 to the loss to Japan.

Beach volleyball was surprisingly my favorite sport to watch in these Games, after having not paid too much attention to it in the past. I didn't really care about the men's b-ball and all the "Redeem Team" bushwah, mainly because of having idiots like Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony representing my country.

I was watching the U.S.-Brazil volleyball replay tonight, and there was a Brazilian player nicknamed Marcelinho. Guess it ain't just for football.

Closing ceremony is always beautiful, but sad because it's all over.

Everytime I got the Chance to watch the Beach Volleyball Matches, I didn't miss it!
The porblem is that JSC(the channel broadcating it) barely broadcasted them, which made me only watch 2 Matches!
I was wondering was there the Beach Soccer Competitions?

Did anyone see the London part at the end of the closing ceremony? Truly embarrasing :head: .

The 2012 Olympics are gonna be terrible. London should never hold any sporting events, its much more of a business city, like most of the South of England. Even the New Wembely is completely soulless.

They should have had the Olympics in the north od England like Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham ect where people are far, far more passionate about all sports, unlike London where everything is on the safe side and full of corparate muppets.

It's nice that the Olympics will rejuvenate the economy in deprived parts of East London. Shame about all the deprived areas anywhere north of Watford, mind.
