I dont get why ppl are saying Maxi sucked today. The way Cesena was body checking and hacking down our players, we clearly need a big man presence in the box to draw the defenders. Maxi did his job. Sure he didn't manage to score or assist, but he did his job IMO.
Why didn't Allegri sub Pippo earlier? Because hes 38, and there is no way he could have scored today the way we played in the second half. Pippo cannot hold off defenders or outrun him. Plus, Cesena started attacking after their first goal and we were in trouble for a bit. When Pippo comes in the game, its all about Pippo. He waves and wants to score. Hence, for the benefit of the team, Allegri subbed him in late.
Look, I understand Pippo is a legend but we simply cannot be giving minutes to him because of that. We have young players we can and should play. Plus, Pippo is as selfish as ever screaming at Urby because the final pass wasn't going to him.
