After that lame-ass showing against Olympiacos I hope we bounce back hard and play four great matches to end the calendar year on a high. I have my reservations playing the exact same team who played so badly, but options are limited- can't even name three decent players to play a three-man-midfield for a bolder 4-3-3.

Hope we storm out of the gates and win this by 3 to 4 goals. Not going to be easy considering our midfield and 2 strikers who don't compliment each other

Yeah, this is the right match to make a point.. that we are definitely at least the 4th best team in Serie A and the position isn't ours just because the others are underperforming. Gattuso needs to get the commoders on his side.
As far as the team is concerned, I still don't like the Higuain-Cutrone 4-4-2.
4-3-3 is what suits most players we have but unfortunately we still don't have that 3rd midfielder fit.

Well said. 433 seems to be the way to go, Higuain and Cutrone can't seem to play together but we really have no choice unless we put someone at LM who doesn't play it in a 3 man mid. Would be Hakan and then Samu at LW, but Hakan has been so poor that it's not worth the risk or Laxalt

Here's a crazy idea to make the 433 work and try get the best out of an out of form Hakan.
What we cannot deny is his brilliant range of passing and ability to play pass and move decently. Yes he lacks pace, dribbling ability and proper decision making in the final third to be an elite wide mid/winger or even the ball carrying ability to be a trequartista.
Let's throw him in front of the defence to play as a regista and put Bakayoko and Kessie either side of him, with Bakayoko playing a more defensive side cm role similar to how Gattuso played close to Pirlo and give Kessie the freedom to get forward.
The pressure to attack and contribute in the final third will be immense on our fullback playing on Bakayoko's side, but the extra defensive coverage offered should negate having to worry about them playing so high up.
So it would look something like this:
Back 4
----------Bakayoko--------Hakan--------Kessie
----------Suso------------Higuain---------Samu
Or we can switch Kessie to his usual RCM role and Bakayoko LCM and finally see the attacking side of RR that we've seen sporadically in his Milan career so far.

Hakan is very much a player who relies on his movement.. he basically moves from left to the center and picks out free players ahead or to the far right. I don’t think he would really be effective as a regista.
