I've recently watched The Perfume: Story of a Murderer and Borat

Borat was funny and good... not excellent, but enjoyable

The Perfume was pretty well done... I've just read the book and I was a bit sad they left some stuff out of the movie, but got to understand that it's not possible to put everything that goes on in the book to the movie... the main character was supposed to be bad looking and sometimes this guy looks quite good... the cinematography and props were pretty good

Movie/thriller I would recommend is The Prestige. Movie how to magicians become rivals mixes fiction with history and it keeps you excited. The best thing about this movie was the on-going tension and there was always something happening and something for you to figure out. Id give it 8.5

I've always loved Christian Bale's performance. He is 'box office' actor, I'd say. Soon I'll watch The Prestige. :)

I just found out recently that Christian Bale is playing the boy (Jim) in one of my all time favorite movie "Empire of the Sun" (directed by Steven Spielberg, John Malkovich also starred). Everytime I finishing watching the movie I always wondered what ever happenned to that little actor. Now I know :D

I watched a sily, good-fun movie called "Beerfest" lastnight. None of the actors are wellknown, except for Jurgen Prochnow, who played the captain in Das Boot. Good good old fashion laugh.

So glad Scorsese finally won the best director award. He finally bagged the little man after 5 nominations as best director (The Aviator, Gangs of New York, Goodfellas, Last Tempation of Christ and Raging Bull).

I also watched Babel last weekend. Great. 4 seemingly unrelated stories with 4 happy endings, but definitely not Hollywood happy ending. It left you with some kind of disturbed, scarred and parched feelings. The same feeling that you have after watching other movie from the same director: 21 grams.

Well, I've really enjoyed "The Departed" and was expecting it to win, given the cast and the quality of the story. I'm also glad for Forest Whitaker, the guy was great playing the dictator.:star:

I've seen "Casino Royale" last night and I really liked it. I wasn't expecting it to be that good. I had a poor opinion on Bond but Daniel Craig's great performance changed it for me. I also loved the fact that Bond made mistakes as they tried to make him more human. I understood from some of the elements of the film that this was the begging of Bond's story, his first big mission, no?

Congrats, Scorsese. He deserves it. :)

The Departed is soon gonna be 'my upnext mission movie to watch'. Anyway I'll have to catch The Prestige first. ;)

Same here.

I recently watched Little Children and Little Miss Sunshine. Its nice to see film-makers giving attention to the pyschologically afflicted people of this world. I feel sad for them.

Little Miss Sunshine is a great movie! when you go out of the theater you feel good :) the little girl is soooo adorable (she reminds me of one of my best friend when she was little, we have been friends since kindergarten) and the grandpa is really funny (I'm really glad Alan Arkin got the oscar for this)
I recommend this movie for everyone

Has anyone heard of El Método (the Method) or Método/Method Gronholm?
it's a very good and interesting Spanish/Argentinian film... it's about 7 people who are applying for a job at this big company... the company, in order to chose who will get the job, puts them all in the same room so that they can be tested and eliminate each other... almost the entire film is set in that room, which gives the acting more attention (like theatre), but the actors are very good...
and a silver lining for us girls ;), one of the main actors looks a LOT like Rui Costa :)

Last weekend I watched BORAT. Truly love it. The movie (in the word of the great man himself) is a great success and very niiiice. Something's wrong with you if you don't laugh at least 10 times :D

Next is Napoleon Dynamite. Another hilarious dead pan comedy. It made you scratched your head, can't help but laughing. The dance scene is hilarious.

last week I saw Music and Lyrics with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore... it was funny and entertaining... hugh Grant is his usual funny, charming self (I Love him)... if you're looking for a movie to have a good time and just laugh at some silliness, you should see it

Yep, orange county is good too. Other dead pan commedy that I also recommend is 'the Big Lebowski' and there's an English movie called "Still Crazy". This one is about an aging rock band trying to have a reunion gid. It's kinda old (ca year 2000) but I truly love it. You have to watch it along with "Almost Famous".

My only objection there is that her glasses were a bit too oversized, to say the least. OK they wanted to give a nerd look to her, but that could have been achieved with thicker, yet smaller spectacles. Those big glasses kinda hindered her acting, I felt so. Yup, she was quite adorable in that role.

BORAT!
Some of the phrases that I loved the most:
  • "make benefit"
  • "water-panties" (ROFLMAO!)
  • "sexy-time"
  • "I excite"
And there are quite a few more that I am sure I am missing! LOL!

Spoiler:
Nice move on Syler getting to Peter, eh? IMO Peter will easily escape from this situation, as he and Syler are the strongest.

Spiderman 3 is going to be a knockout with my favourite supervillain Venom. ATM I'm waiting for Frank Miller's 300 film version. It's premiere in Estonia will be next week. I'm so anxious i had to watch Sin City again.

And talking about Borat, the pussymagnet scene was the best. And here's something really good for you.

OK, let's all stand up for the Kazakhstan national anthem "O Kazakhstan"

Kazakhstan... greatest country in the world
All other countries are run by little girls
Kazakhstan number one exporter of potassium
All other countries have inferior potassium

Kazakhstan...home of Tinshein swimming pool
It's length thirty meter and width six meter
Filtration system a marvel to behold
It remove eighty percent of human solid waste

Kazakhstan...Kazakhstan...you very nice place
From plain of Taranshenk to to Northern plain of Jew Town
Kazakhstan friend of all except Uzbekhistan
They very nosey people with bone in their brain

Kazakhstan industry best in the world
We invented toffee and the trouser belt
Kazakhstan's prostitute cleanest in the region
Except of course for Turkmenistan's

Kazakhstan...Kazakhstan...you very nice place
From plain of Taranshenk to to Northern plain of Jew Town
Come grasp the mighty penis of our leader
From junction with the testes to tips of its face

Yeah, I'm anxious about it too. I have it on my computer (bad quality, I'm only kepping it to get a good seeding ratio on my torrents) but I won't watch it like that. I'll go to the cinema to see it.

I just finished watching GoodFellas and before that The Departed.... A mini-Martin Scorcese afternoon ;)

The Departed... it was entertaining, but not special... Jack Nicholson is good, gotta love him... but MArk Wahlberg was very good, he eclipsed Leo and Matt and the rest of the cast when he was on scene...

Just like Mark eclipsed his costars... same thing happened with GoodFellas, The Departed is FAR from the quality of GoodFellas... De Niro, Liotta, Pesci, Bracco and Sorvino were GREAT! The story and how it was carried was really goood!
I also liked how Marty controlled the camera and the takes on both films, pretty cool and interesting

Such a bad film, if you take out Jessica simpson theres absolutely no need to watch it.

I watched Just friends about a month ago and again today, great film, Ryan Reynolds is awesome.

Oh and buy the Borat DVD, one of the deleted scenes when he gets somebody to massage his back is hilarious
