Yup. This doesn't sound like a bunch that have just sacrificed an unimportant game for a more important one.

Jeez..even banter era RnB had higher morale:lol:

Wow.

Celtic defenders:
Ajer 1.98
Jullien 1.96
Duffy 1.93

The first two did well against Lazio last season.

In attack they have a talented 22 yo French striker who plays in France U21: Odsonne Edouard, he scored 24 hoals last season.

The posters on that Celtic forum are saying that the manager has already said that Edouard won't play.

I just realized the last time we faced them in Europe, van Dijk was still on their team

Leave Ibra on the bench.

They wont have Edouard available apparently or Jullien.
Think Kjaer should be rested too.

Calabria-Duarte-Roma-Theo
Tonali-Bennacer
Samu-Brahim-Hauge
Leao

I think we'll create chances and if not, Hakan and Ibra can be thrown on to get a goal.

Duarte just started training again, no way he's starting.

I hope to see some changes in the team compared to the line-up against Inter, as I believe that the game against Roma is more important. I would rest Zlatan even if he is a monster physically, Hakan and Kessie.

I hope to see Dalot, Tonali, Diaz and Hauge in, maybe even Krunic and Samu.

Something like: Gigio - Dalot/Calabria Kjaer Roma Theo/Dalot - Tonali Bennacer/Krunic - Saele/Samu Diaz Hauge - Leao.

If we win all our home games , plus sparta away, we will be top anyway

Rest players, and I still cant see us losing. Worst case scenario a scrappy draw which still aint a complete disaster

Be wary of Duffy on set pieces. Guy is a huge threat.

With Hakan out Diaz will surely start in the centre - the only other real alternative there is Hauge.

I think that makes it a bit more likely that Zlatan starts.

Calabria will play.
He is maybe banned for the domestic comps.

I would be very surprised of the starting eleven isn't the same as Inter, with the exception of Brahim and Tonali.

Seems like they're playing a 352 and it's not working out for them. There's pressure to shift to something like a 4231. Their 352 should be a lot deeper than Inter's though, so there might not be as much space to exploit with someone like Leao out wide, although from the Rangers game Laxalt and the other wingback push up a LOT. Their CB's are huge so crossing for headers and direct balls to Ibra might be a problem. They're going to be missing a lot of starters too. It's still an away game against a team with wounded pride, and that's always dangerous.

Brahim as AM or a new formation?

I can see Pioli experimenting with a 4-3-3 or even a 4-2-2-2

I don’t think he wants to leave Ibra isolated. Someone has to always be close enough to take advantage of the space he opens up. I think we’ll stick with 4231, why fix what isn’t broken? Brahim did well when he replaced Hakan

We shouldnt start both Leao & Ibra because we wont have a ST on the bench.
I would rest Ibra & start Leao.

But we did that against Inter.

I don?t think we should rest Ibra. He rested for weeks while he was out.

I rather have Ibra fresh for Roms & coming off the bench if needed vs Celtic.
Hauge-Diaz-Sale behind Leao.

Ibra playing 60 minutes is good for him I think. The derby was a one-off game but he needs to get back in rhythm and have match fitness. The Celtic game is important too.

I don't know, I think as long as Ibra is available then Pioli is going to start him no matter what, same as Theo and Kessie.

I say take every match as a final until the winter break.

In other words, the only changes I hope Pioli makes, is tonali for bennacer, Dalot for Calabria and Diaz for Hakan.

Making some changes in about 70th minute, is of great importance as well since Roma, one of our direct rivals, coming up next.

We need Ibra to start now that Calha is injured. I think Pioli will go for Saele - D?az - Leao attack behind Ibra .. which is how he’ll start vs Roma aswell. Hakan out is a big diff in how we play and it’s a good idea to get the front four to gel before Roma game. Anyways these 4 didn’t play much during international break .

We can rest some players after Rebic Calha are back..

Yes fair point. Although it would also be good to try Hauge out a bit in this game.

We have 16 games until January 1st and it's not like any reinforcement will be bought and/or starting on the first day of the mercato.

That is a match every other 3 days. Injuries and fatigue will kill this team if Pioli insists on sticking to his preferred XI. He has to rotate.

It is better to gradually test out the backups and mix it up wherever he can.

Dalot - Kjaer - Romagnoli - Theo

Tonali - Krunic

Sale - Diaz - Hauge

Leao

Why are people assuming this game is so easy?

There's no way we're playing Kalulu, especially not as a CB from the start. Dalot is an option since Calabria has played literally every minute from the start of the season, but don't expect changes other than him, Diaz for Hakan and Tonali for Bennacer.
