Because of the club preferring a different CAM/RW and worsened relationship to the San Siro crowd(got whistled off after every goalless performance, which clearly hurt him).
He did what was best for him imo and what should have also been good for Milan. But we replaced him with a finished Brazilian who isn't prepared to track back and defend in every game but is guaranteed a starting spot anyway and Galliani's Juventino heart couldn't resist to immediately send the transfer money away to the club he grew up to support.

What a failure his transfer turned out to be.
Sold him to buy Matri and replaced him 4 months later with Honda, and both of them failed to show their worth.
We should've just kept him and played him, Binho or Petagna as main strikers until Pazzo came back/when Balo was injured.
