It was already reported by Sky Italy today (think I posted it here) that we're very interested in this 20 yr old Colombian River Plate CB. But I didn't know he's so highly rated... Does anyone know something about him?

Looks like he's left footed and pretty quick. Fits the profile of a CB we were looking for.

He has played a total of 6 games for River Plate and is 20 years old... no U19, U17 or anything . I'd give 2 million tops if he played amazingly well those 6 games (He apparently has been at River Plate since 2011)

Other than that, this smells a lot like Bebe, the guy that Manchester United bought for 7 million a couple years ago...

From what people told me and I have read and seen, he is very highly rated.
Some people from Argentina say he is very close to Milan and the deal will be concluded soon.
@Ender - look at Roma's Marquinhos - he was a bench warmer at Corinthians and played mostly for their youth team.

Marquinhos had played with the Corinthians team when he was 17 while he was still developing physically right now is 18 (as in 2 years younger than Balanta) and also has played 14 games with U17. We don't know who this guy Balanta is, why he has never played before for River or the U17, U19 even though he was at River for two years. Feel free to disagree but I stand by my word... no more than 2 million if he has played great in those 6 games. Money doesn't grow on trees.

@Pipa, yes Bebe participated in a cup for homeless people a few months before getting bought by M.U.

why not, he is young talent, like vergara, mugni, sapoanara, milan would never pay 10 milion for 20 years colombian cb if he is bad player.

i wanted to say that we can spend money in colombian talents, like vergara maybe balanta is good too.

balanta is playing right now ironically in place of rested J. Vergara for colombia u-20 toulon tournament, he looks ok but the whole team is great
